Keep dreaming. Apple will keep it 32 bit for a few more years. They want to reach the widest potential customer base. What I am hoping for is iLife 11 and Blu-Ray support in 10.7.

Oh yes, we will get 10.8 (Saber Tooth Tiger), then, Apple buys Disney and we get 10.9 (Tigger)....then 11.0 will be just plain Goofy.

I think he was referring to the possibility of getting the new iLife for free as well as a possible discount on OS X or anything else that may be announced.

Lion should indicate the last iteration of OSX. There's no point in going from Lion to Cougar/Lynx, or whatever.

My guess is that XI (OS11) will be a complete redesign again. Maybe built with touch in mind right from the start.

Speculation: The lion is the considered to be the king of the cats, so is this the last planned version of OSX?

And no, I don't think the desktop OS will die, it could change though. The capabilities of mobile devices may change to the point that they want one OS across the entire line in a few years from now (with different mouse and touch UI's of course). Windows 8 is supposed to have a major focus on touch computing too.

I'm finally in the market. Deal breaker is the inclusion of an Ethernet port, seeing as I do Network... work. For lack of a better term.

Is it any good or just a gimmick?

This and the snap feature I use all the time. They are fantastic. My work computers are all Windows XP and it's hard to adjust back to not having these two simple but very effective features.
