Ah what timing. The 12" PowerBook G4 is seriously on its last leg. (Didn't help that it fell out of the bag onto the pavement either haha)

C'mon Apple, you know you have to use the name Cougar eventually...
Man the 12 inch power g4. I remember back in 2006 I wanted to get the powerbook pismo(g3 powerbook) from wagener media. But just a year and a half ago my girlfriend got me the aluminum 13 inch macbook(before it became the powerbook pro). Awesome notebook. And no freaking Nortons ad popping up telling me my 30 day trail is up. And never a virus. I hate windows. I'm getting my GF the white macbook when my 8 grand comes in around january 2011. We'll sell her crappy a** HP I bought her a few years ago.

oh Wow! Just so excited! With all the attention focused on their mobile lineup of late, it is so exhilarating to finally have a Mac event! 10.7 Lion FTW. Also iLife '11 please?

Well this event will get precisely zero coverage in the UK; on the 20th October we have our 'Comprehensive Spending Review', which is when the government announce how we no longer get any public services and all have to pay higher taxes - I think the media might be a bit pre-occupied.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

Woop! About time they updated some mac software

I don't know what to expect from this. Both Snow Leopard and Windows 7 are on par with each other. I have no idea what I'd want new on the desktop now - it's stagnated for so long.

Snow Leopard has Unix as it's foundation - this alone means Microsoft will struggle to match OS X.

12" PowerBook was my first Mac and my favorite.

Like others, I'm glad to see a Mac-focused event. With that title, I think Apple is admitting to having ignored us for awhile.

I think we'll see a glimpse of 10.7, focused on the under-the-hood changes and possibly a new UI (Aqua is dead). We'll also probably see iLife '11, iWork '11, and iOS versions of both (for iPhone and iPad, now), as well a reminder about iOS 4.2. I'm hoping for news on the white iPhone, but I think that it's probably DOA at this point.

As for hardware, I would at most expect spec-bumped MBP's and a new MBA (11" is the rumor).

Wow Im looking forward to that!! Emmmm wonder what it will be...... 10.7, new macs I wonder. :) Doubt there will be anything on iPads though.

WHOOO HOOO!!!

iLife? OSX 10.7???

Very happy that Apple are presenting something on their PC stuff!

The Mini just got redesigned recently.... I wouldn't bet on a refresh. Perhaps iMacs and Notebooks though.

I meant that if they are going to release a new OS soon, then I should wait until the announcement. My guess is they are going to tease the OS and have it ready to go next year.
