Hmm, good thing I'll never be subject to that with a Mac Pro.
iPhone event wasn't that grew to begin with.

also holding my arm up to touch a vertical touch screen with nothing to actually rest my arm on is just annoying and tiresome.

Wel, it seems Apple is getting "classic" by producing lots, and lots of different devices (like they started end 80-ies).
Steve axed all that when he re-started Apple (the simple quadrant). He had to, really.
Story is deferent now.
But, hey... how about more coloured iPads?
Yes yes yes yes yes!!! Please let this be it! I think the Apple TV has so much potential. It has been years since they first introduced Apple TV and is has been viewed as a hobby product. Maybe it will be moving to a product of greater stature.

Hate to burst all your bubbles here , but here is a real decryption of that message :
We, here in Serbia , waited for several years for iPhone to appear in official channels to buy via providers and such.. for a last couple of months there was some increased roumors that the iPhone will come soon, and the director of state mobile provider MTS, even anounced it on a morning program in march of 2014. Since 9.9.2014. we are waiting for Ratel goverment agency to give it state wide permission to be sold (it appears that we have more regulations than China, not to mention CE) So , providers and Ratel are playing a blame game for a month , meanwhile Samsung note 4 and such appear on official market 7 days after the "1st world" ... and their prices are outrageous... but they have not real competition.
So, at last , couple a days a go , newspapers got an iPhone 6+ for a review from VIP Mobile ... so it seems it's finally is going to happen.
I know that half day of Zhenshen production of iphones would fill the whole market in Serbia, but ...
So, this is a real and only reason for "It's been way too long." ;-)

And the existing thunderbolt displays have built in power support for MacBooks -- of like three years ago! Useless.

From the people I've talked to, Apple will not only be updating the iPad line, but making another announcement other than iMac or Retina thunderbolt displays. I would guess either entertainment, like TV, or something closer to education like lower end eReader (unlikely) or ibook services.

I believe the 13-inch MacBook Pro Unibody (non-retina) won't survive this. The MacBook Pro will purely be all-Retina.
