Personally I'd say go with the Haswell, the Broadwells have been delayed and are obviously having slight issues with those chips and most importantly is there really going to be such a significant difference that they're worth waiting for?

I hear varying sides of the rumors. Some say it will be a significant spec bump over haswell with the same energy savings. I dunno. More telling is that it's been delayed. I don't think I can hold out too much longer for a new machine. I'll probably go with the haswell. Thanks for your input!

Apple to Offer Live Video Stream of Today's Media Event

I was waiting to hear this great news!

I've wondered about this as well. At the very least, it does create suspense and buzz.

It may be as simple as to not allow anyone to buy anything the day of the event to avoid upset customers.

They could limit the store to browsing at least though, with a notice on the checkout saying something like "Please note that purchases are currently on hold due to X conference. We'll be resuming orders at X time. Your shopping basket has been saved for later."

Shouldn't be hard to do really.

As of last May, Apple had sold over 13 million units, half of them sold in the previous 12 months.

People need to learn how to spot sarcasm.

I certainly hope they make it available to people with other devices instead of the 10 people who own an Apple TV.

Go to apple.com
Click the big picture labeled "Watch the Keynote" in the middle of the page.
Wait until 10am PST :)

----------

Then again if there will be preorders, they may be available when the store returns today. Anything is possible.

If they said available today. I'd up and leave work right now :D

But that would never happen.

Everyone gets it's sarcasm, the point is sarcasm needs to have something funny in its meaning.

Also if you have to explain sarcasm, it can't be described as sarcasm :D

Sweet, can't wait to watch. Going to try not to visit any forums until after I watch the event later tonight. Regarding that building, looks quite nice. Reminds me of iOS 7 ;)

Nice! But I'll have to live blog since I'm at work :/
Will watch the video when I get home =]...after my Insanity workout :(

Rats, it would be just THAT day that I have to be out in the field so I won't be able to watch the live stream. Damn U Apple, rarely do you do a live stream and it had to be on a day I can't watch it. :(:)

My Apple TV (version 5.2.1) is not showing the "Apple Events" icon, also how to check

That's great! Make sure they wait for the iPad 5 and don't make a stupid financial mistake just by trying to save a few bucks by buying the iPad 4.

And when you get it, let us know! :D

I'm in Ireland, so by the time it's shipped here, there will probably be dozens of unwrapping videos online, iFixit will have ripped one apart and be complaining about lack of upgradability, and there will be at least one -gate (my guess: "too-narrow-bezel-gate"?), if not an out-and-out class action lawsuit.

Still, I'll be happy to post back!

Now that would be a 'Just one more thing'!!!

I miss those days.

It would be great if he was wearing it for the keynote, and for the "one more thing", he just pulled up his sleeve to reveal it.

Yeah, it was a little gimmicky, and mostly expected, but it was _fun_ (and Jobs was terrific at delivering it). :apple:

You're right it was kind of gimmicky but as you say I think it was the delivery that made it and even though you knew it was coming, you held your breath in anticipation.....at least I did!!

It always reminded me of the scene in A Christmas Story where Ralphie opens everything, doesn't get his Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock but then the Old Man says "What's that in the corner?"

:D

As someone who doesn't own any Apple devices, how can I watch this from a Windows environment? Anyone know of other video livestreams?

so I have to wait until the end or any other solutuon to watch the whole video?

If you want to watch the whole thing you'll need to wait for Apple to add the video to their site. Usually within 3-5 hours after the event I think.
