Shouldn't you be out waiting for the great pumpkin? Devs cant "pump out" a pointing device, offboard storage, mouse-ability, or a decent keyboard cover. Ipad pro looks like a lovely sketch tool with all the amenities of ios media and app ecosystem. No need to pretend its anything else

The question was 2 or 4 I answered.

Also enlighten yourself on the forum rules ;)

I should have added "nitpicking" :)
No big deal, it's just that it makes a difference, 4 gb is 500 MB. ;)
I am aware of the forum rules, that rule is about spelling, this is not really spelling is it?
Don't be offended, as I said, no big deal.

As a pro photog I find my Surface pro 3 fits this profession perfectly. Full photoshop (and other tools) available. Massive storage really helps with RAW files. Also the ability to dock to a 32" color calibrated monitor when in studio is just the icing on the cake.

Still don't understand how this 12" iPhone is right for "pro" work but if you're simply a diehard fanboy it's all moot I guess.

Make sure to take care of this: https://photographylife.com/microsoft-surface-pro-3-banding-and-calibration
(I think, apple would never make such a blunder as microsoft did there: "to extend battery life, Microsoft actually modified Intel’s graphics card drivers and reduced the number of colors that can be displayed by the device. For most people this might not be a problem, but for us photo geeks, this “hack” is actually quite a big issue, as it introduces banding / posterization to images. It also makes it hard to distinguish between some shades of colours.")

Personally, I sold my SP3 after 5 months and don't look back...

In the US the holiday is celebrated as Veteran's Day.

I have no issue with Apple releasing a product on this day. If I did I would have to work overtime working up my outrage since every car dealership, furniture store, Target, Walmart...heck, every business...will be having a Veteran's Day blowout sale and have been doing so for years. Anyone who is thinks it is in poor taste or outraged they should have been update about a whole lot of things well before this.
I understand that for everything else but Apple, but since they have so few introductions throughout the year, I think that choosing Veteran's/Remembrance day is in poor taste.

Heck, they don't do 9/11, so I think that having 11/11 would be a concern to them.

Apple's much-anticipated larger-screened iPad Pro will go on sale both online and in Apple retail stores on Wednesday, November 11, reports 9to5Mac. Apple has thus far remained tight-lipped on the tablet's release date, giving only a general November release timeline.

Previous rumors suggested the iPad Pro would go on sale in early November, perhaps during the first week of the month, but Apple's release plans can shift ahead of an important launch. It is not clear if the company will offer pre-orders for the device ahead of the Wednesday, November 11 launch date.

Along with the iPad Pro, Apple also plans to begin selling its accessories, the Apple Pencil and the Apple Smart Keyboard, on November 11, both online and in retail stores.

Pricing on the iPad Pro starts at $799 for the 32GB Wi-Fi only version and goes up to $1,079 for a 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard are sold separately for $99 and $169, respectively.

No pre-order. Order online and walk into store and buy on same day?

This was a weird one. Can't really wrap my head around why you'd buy this large of an iPad. That floppy keyboard you can buy for it is also a head scratch design wise. Comparing this product to surface pro 4 you can tell who got it right. That's my opinion, some may disagree, don't get too upset.
Your inability to wrap your head around why I'd buy the iPad Pro doesn't upset me in the least.

Why should they be held to a different standard than everyone else? Everyone else can sell things that day but for some reason Apple shouldn't? I'm glad they are. It doesn't change the meaning or celebration of the holiday.

I'll celebrate just as I would have and it will take 5 minutes out of my day to place my order for an iPadPro.

There was no fanfare for the iPad 4 128GB launch, they are treating the Pro as a no frills addition to the iPad line. It is a larger iPad, same apps, OS and design language hence no major trumpeting.

It will sell plenty to those who view PDFs, artists, salesmen, designers, presenters and consumers who want a larger screen to the standard 9.7 size.

For me, the iPad Pro will be a killer digital sheet music reader, with either 1 full-size page in portrait, or 2 smaller pages in landscape. It will also come in handy for photo management/editing and web browsing.

This is exactly my plan as well. The current iPad is just a little too small for my 55 year old eyes. Having a backlit screen the size of a standard page of music, pencil to write with, and my entire music library available on one device is extremely exciting for many musicians. Add the faster speed, better sound etc. and the fact I'll be able to also use it for all my normal iPad activities like editing photos, watching media content, playing games, etc. and this becomes a very attractive device.

I shall pick mine up on Nov 11th (hopefully), then download John Mcrae's poem "In Flanders Fields" and read it.
I shall order mine online and then listen to the Jacques Brel song "Marieke" as translated into English for the off-Broadway show Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.

On Veteran's (Remembrance) Day?

I'd rethink this one.

Why? The iPhone 6s preorder date was on September 11th. I understand the importance of this day, however, let's not forget, it's another day. The original iPad was released on Hitlers Birthday, but that doesn't mean we are celebrating Hitlers Birthday. It's all a mind set. Let's remain focused on the content of this article.

To the people asking who'll buy it; from my perspective, I have a bunch of stylusssss' and I have a wacom companion hybrid, and also a surface pro 3... but the best drawing apps are on my iPad, the android wacom is both huge and the software isn't fully supported (I even had to send it back to Germany because I forgot the password and because it's bespoke you can't just reinstall everything) and the drawing apps on Windows are limited, for example Photoshop; even though it's fully featured, it's too fiddly and not streamline for sketching and for using a pen with...

...the only disadvantage of the iOS apps are that there is no accurate pen device... I'm hoping and praying that the Apple Pencil is as good as they have demoed, because the pairing of iOS drawing apps that have been made to be super user friendly to overcome the fact that they only support touch and limited styluses' with the pencil are hopefully a dream come true (that's been 5 years coming)

I was 'nitpicking' too ;) but yes it's called iPhone autocorrect which isn't always correct lol

I'm really hoping the next iPad Air addition will have the iPad Pro display technology to take full advantage of the Apple Pencil. I love the size of my iPad Air 2 and would really love to have the pencil optimized for it. I was disappointed when it was announced it would only be fully compatible with the iPad Pro. Being a student in an IT program, I come across more and more opportunities everyday where I'd love to be drawing my diagrams on my iPad versus pencil and paper or finger stylus. Having most of my notes being digital has been extremely helpful and efficient. The Apple Pencil would nearly put an end to needing a pencil and paper for my classes.

They're releasing it on Remembrance Day? Am I the only person who thinks that's a terrible idea? I'm surprised the Apple Store is even open stat holidays

Don't know where you live but Rememberance Day (11 Nov) is not a public holiday here in the UK. IMHO It should be but currently it's not.

Presumably a launch date of Wed 11 Nov would mean pre-orders starting on Sat 7th Nov. I hope we hear more on Monday at the latest as I'm itching to get my hands on one.

I'm going to buy one because I use my iPad Air more than my computer these days and I like the idea of the larger screen. I'm interested to see how many people are going to buy the over-priced keyboard. I use the Keys to Go keyboard from Logitech and I'm happy with that so I'm not planning to get the Apple Keyboard. I just hope they don't make it the only Apple case available at launch.
