Apple TV 4 Pre-Order Thread

Which Apple TV will you get?

My order now says "Preparing for shipment." Since I'm in Cupertino, CA, they will hopefully just send some guy to walk it a few blocks. :D

Remember in the past that in a number of cases the order page has shown Preparing For Shipment when it is already on a truck and that tracking numbers are often late (as are shipment status updates) in updating there. Apple likes to keep you wondering :)

With recent 6s shipments same thing was seen. Preparing For Shipment yet when you used the backdoor tracking method (UPS tracking by reference number and using your cell phone number of the unit) it showed already on a truck and working its way towards you.

Just thought I'd mention it. Hopefully we all get these on Friday ! :)

Usually what happens in some cases is that based upon preorders the allotments are sent to shipping hubs then wait for authorization to be associated to our orders and shipped.

I really could be wrong here but that's my perception from years past. It's rare to get a tracking number when a device is still in China for example.

For reference I've ordered every iPhone since 4s and every iPad to date, an Apple Watch, a MacBook Pro and an iMac. I've seen tracking numbers while still in China maybe twice with all of that.

So guessing they see x amount of orders on east coast for example so they send that many plus extra and then set a predefined time and date for when each package is associated to each order which is why many of our tracking numbers show it leaving somewhere that's already close to us.

ordered 3 ATV's right when preorder started, didn't pay extra shipping, all 3 now say preparing for shipment...but still have Nov 2 as ship date...maybe Friday???
 
I cancelled my UK order due to the possibility it might not arrive until next week. I'm out of the country for a week starting Monday and there is no certainty that there would be anyone in the house to sign for the delivery. I will try to get one from my local Apple store on Friday, failing that I will order one next week, so it will arrive after I get back.
 
spoke with Apple and they still are not stating any 'confirmed' date that these will be in store so appears to be info kept close for some reason
 
We should have an answer within the next 1-2 hours if they will be delivering tomorrow, or Friday at earliest... in order for most shipments to hit the main shipping spine they need to be turned over by 4-5pm for acknowledgement by the carriers. If by 5PM EST we haven't seen any movement that means that pending shipment means you probably have one reserved and it will ship out on Thursday.

Not true. An item can be shipped later and still arrive overnight. Also would not affect 2 day.
