Not true. An item can be shipped later and still arrive overnight. Also would not affect 2 day.

Exactly, I live in Massachusetts, and I've had shipments not shipped until !0pm et from California that arrived the next day. I still think next day orders mat arrive Thursday and others arrive on Friday.

The App Store app is now showing a fastest delivery date of Oct 30 for both models again. They must have plenty stock so I don't see any reason for those of us who ordered Monday that we shouldn't get ours by Friday.

So it looks like those of us who paid for overnight shipping will get it Friday for the weekend, and those who didn't will get it like Monday or Tuesday. That's pretty reasonable for not having to go into the store.

We didn't get the fast track option here in the UK and mine looks like it's on track to come Friday :)

mine better come on Friday. Apple didn't give anyone outside of the US the option for faster shipping.

Is there a technical release date for it? Basically, is there any chance they can ship tonight and arrive tomorrow if we did next day?

I don't think there has been an exact technical release date, has there?

Who here can't wait to watch the World Series on MLB.TV @ 60 (glorious) frames per second on their new Apple TV 4 this Friday and Saturday night?

I can't! I ordered the most expensive shipping available ($19 for pre-noon next day), live in Los Angeles area, and ordered early on Monday the 26th.

And, yes, I will be mad if some people who ordered free shipping get theirs before I do! :p

I think there is a good chance people that ordered next day receive it tomorrow.

since those pesky royals knocked out my beloved blue jays (and television networks from coast to coast breathed a sigh of relief for their precious ratings....a Canadian team in the world series....ewwwww) all I can say is Go Mets!!!

where did you get your information from
beides the 9to5 mac article nowhere else does it suggest that this is true, and the apple status page hasn't changed either

I did the free shipping, and mine already says preparing for shipment, but it still says delivers Nov 2-4, so I guess we'll see what happens.

That delivery estimate is a conservative estimate of what was believed to be true when you ordered it. It does not change even when Apple knows it will be delivered soon. When I ordered the Apple watch, it arrived almost a week before the estimated delivery date (that never changed on the order page).

That is what I was originally thinking also, but I think it would have shipped by now (similar to my nimbus order that came today). Hope you are right though and it changes to shipped in the next few hours. We shall see.

I would agree with this, my wife just bought a 6s from Apple, said to arrive between October 22-24th. It shipped the day after we ordered and she got it the next day. I am in NY, so if they ship from PA, I should actually get it tomorrow unless they hold them until Thursday to ship.

Yep. That's exactly what will happen. And makes sense for many reasons.

I hope so, my extra $18 will be well spent if that's the case. I know, however, that Tim Cook said on the earnings call yesterday that they will start shipping Friday.

For the eastern/central U.S. UPS main hub is in Louisville, FedEx main hub is in Nashville. Apple may have units warehoused near these hubs for fast shipping. We shall find out soon.
