I don't understand why people are getting so annoyed at the shipping....from the minute it went live on the store it said delivers between 30th November and 3 (or 4th) of November.....by my calendar we are still on the 31st October....so Apple hasn't broken its promises or failed anywhere. If you haven't received it by the 4th then of course you have every right to complain.

I do agree that people who paid for one day shipping should have arrived on launch....but this could be down to the way Apple allocates stock and order of shipping from warehouse....nobody knows in truth.
The point is not that we haven't receive it, the point is they did not process the orders in the order they were received (the standard practice). I ordered first thing Monday, and from reading this thread people that ordered after have received them first. Mine is still in PFS (and has been for 5 days), I just want to know that it is shipping. Apple also should have made known that they would be available in the stores on Friday. The way the orders were fulfilled seems random. Bottom line, I would be happy to receive on the 4th, but again let me know.

So did any Canadians actually wind up getting their device delivered yesterday?
Here's a funny story: After accepting it as inevitable that I would not get it until Nov. 2 in Toronto, and getting one at the Apple Store, i got a notification from Apple Store.app last night about 8pm saying that delivery was expected "today by end of day"-as in: last night. Sure enough, the UPS status was also updated for delivery by end of day yesterday. Like an idiot, I went outside and checked on the porch no less than four times until I went to bed at 11pm. Well played, UPS.

Ok guys so I got fed up and called Apple to cancel my order. Told the rep that I was expecting it yesterday and that I will just go to my local Best Buy and just pick it up. she apologized and said that they've been getting a lot of calls about the same issues we're all having. So she went on to say how she couldn't cancel the order because the order was preparing for shipment, told her yeah since Tuesday! I then asked her if I can get expedited shipping, so she put me on hold for about 5 to 7 minutes and came back and told me that she could not do expedited shipping but then said that complementary they will refund my money including taxes and send me the AppleTV for free. I'm very happy with that decision they made, told me that it's a one time thing that they did for me and that it was for my troubles.
Good for you. I just tried and got nowhere. I ordered Monday Oct 26. It says it will be delivered between Nov 2 and Nov 4 and she insisted it was still on track to be delivered by Nov 4 even though it hasn't shipped yet. She also says they don't ship on Saturday.

my gripe is what was the point of the pre-order? I ordered first thing Monday, all are shipping but will not be here till Tuesday. Yet I can now walk into and Apple store and just buy them? Seems the pre-order was a scam to get you to pay for the extra shipping, that is what angers me...if you pre-order you should have it before they start selling it in the stores, pretty simple...or if it's a pre-order to guarantee you a product, then give an option for store pickup for Friday and only sell a specific amount...this way you feel like you got someone for pre-ordering, right now I feel like an idiot and should've just wanted till yesterday to go buy them at the store

I agree. Pre-order is dumb when the stores (and even Best Buy, ffs) gets stock before the pre-orders arrive. Yes, it's a first world problem, but we're not here to discuss ending hunger or poverty.

I preordered online to save me a trip to the store. I originally stopped by an Apple Store on Monday to see if they had them in stock (didn't keep track of the release dates for this one). They didn't have them but I did leave with an Apple Watch. Another reason not to goto an Apple Store again, I keep buying things that aren't cheap! :)

Totally on POINT!

I ordered two 64GB Apple TV's 5 minutes after they appeared on the Apple Store site last Monday morning for free delivery to a suburb of Chicago. The very next day they began preparing for shipment. As of this morning, 6 days later they have NOT shipped. I'm sure they will meet the window that was always listed, Nov 2-4 but it is profoundly disappointing that by then these will have been available in Apple Stores, Best Buy and elsewhere for 5-6 days. Further people who ordered from Apple with free shipping DAYS after I did have had their devices shipped and delivered already.

It's a first world problem, but the way this was handled was pretty poor. Luckily Apple has built up a lot of a good will with me over the years.

Really loving this thing, was messing around with all day yesterday and enjoyed playing some tunes on it this morning

I agree with you totally.
And as someone else said, What is the point of PRE-ORDERING if the stores are going to get them before the customer and even stupid Best Buy!

There where low shipments form the Harrisburg facilty

I would agree with you if I didnt order mine on Wednesday, and get it shipped from Harrisburg the next day! I dont understand why my order "on the fly" was delivered before all these pre-orders, and I even did the free shipping. Everyone else got the larger memory too right?

Why? The item started selling days ahead of release. Release day came and everyone and their moms got one at their local store while Apple enthusiasts who preordered kept waiting for their item. A day later they are still waiting for their item AND their order status remains the same since day two.

how can people be annoyed about such thing right...? o_O

It is truly annoying that online ordering opened up back on Monday and that stores had them before the people that got up early to order. (Hell, I got up at 2 am as well just to make sure I wouldn't miss out on initial stock if it went on sale at the "iPhone time".) I got annoyed all over again when I got my shipping email yesterday from Apple that said it would be here Wednesday, then FedEx said it would be here tomorrow, then FedEx changed their tune last night and said it would be here Tuesday.

All that being said, I was initially promised Nov. 2-4, and it looks like it's easily going to fall into that range. The reason everyone is so crazy about this is because it's getting well reviewed, real world users are loving it, and we were all hoping to have one to play with over the weekend. I know a new Apple TV would have been a lot of fun this morning--soccer games were cancelled due to rain and we were all just sitting around the house all morning because it was too gross and gloomy to do anything outside.

But it's not life or death, as many others have said. My Apple TV will get here when it gets here. I still have all my other Apple toys to play with in the mean time (including the gen 3 Apple TV I already own). And my PS4. I just really wish I had gone to the Apple Store on Friday and picked one up instead of ordering one online.

I have been fortunate enough monetarily this year to buy an Apple Watch, a brand new rMBP, iPhone 6S's for my wife and myself, a new iPad mini, and this new Apple TV. I'm not lacking in cool technology items laying around the house. It will come when it comes.

I just had a chat with Apple's customer support and a call with a customer service manager.

I explained the situation: Apple.com showed me as shipping on Thursday, FedEx had me for Friday delivery then changed it to Pending Friday evening. After chatting with the Rep, where he said even though standard shipping was faster, he couldn't refund the shipping charge due to policy. We politely went back and forth until I asked for an escalation. Just got off the phone with a manager who said she would refund the shipping charge.

Still don't have any expectation as to when it will be delivered. FedEx still shows Pending 18hrs after changing from Friday delivery.

I thought Tim Cook was an operations/logistics genius. Granted, he's not overseeing each and every detail but this is in his DNA. This is very unlike Apple, very disappointing.

Give this a shot - go into your Apple Support Profile https://supportprofile.apple.com and check to see if your ATV 4s are in there.

Tim Cook has very little control over your shipment once FedEx has it.

Tim Cook's job is to delegate. And yes, he has no control over packages once the shipping company has them. But surely someone's head is going to fly because of this. I'm sure all this chaos wasn't meant to be.
