Same! After it took days.
I got applecare since it's only $30, in case that the hard drive fails, who knows. My ATV3 has been out of warranty for years and it no issues.

Hard drive? No moving parts. And it's AppleCare, not AppleCare+, so throwing the remote through a window isn't covered.
I never get applecare for iPads and iPhones but I do for computers and Apple TVs. Applecare has always paid for itself on computers since something always fails in warranty.
Just got my email from Apple saying delivery will be 11/4. Glad I picked this up in store on 10/30. Considering returning both at this point. New ATV4 is a bit underwhelming.
To my surprise OnTrac delivered my AppleTV early this evening 10/31 I thought it was a trick or treater!!!
Mine is still PFS, I bought one at Best Buy yesterday, the other will get returned whenever it shows up.

I got an email from Apple last night, saying that "[T]he carrier has notified us that your Apple TV was lost in transit." This was after:
- I had the chat and call with the reps, who refunded my shipping fee.
- Received a notification that a replacement device was being prepared for shipment
- Canceled the entire order because I didn't feel like dealing with this Forrest Gump box 'o chocolates pre-order
- Gone to the Walnut St. Philly store to pick one up.
- Set up Netflix, Hulu and a bunch of other apps.
Day 6 of my Apple TV held hostage (or as Apple says "Preparing for Shipment).
Heck, they even had an extra hour last night and that didn't help.
What will today bring?

Same here on the second unit. If I hadn't had one already arrive, I'd definitely gotten one at the store yesterday. Makes no sense the random execution.
Pre-ordered on Monday, free shipping. Was going to wait for mine as I didn't upgrade shipping, and I'm working this weekend. However, finally got a confirmation last night with ETA of November 4th. Meanwhile my local Apple Store was sold out 64GB but apparently got them back in stock. I ordered online last night for store pick-up so I can get it after work today.
It looks like many will arrive at the absolute end of the window (Nov 4). I can't explain why one of mine came Saturday. Totally logistic cluster.
Mine is in transit as of this morning. Also got the Apple Store app notification that it had shipped even though I got the email yesterday. So at this point there is finally movement and UPS has my Apple TV now. I have put a request to pick up at my local customer center hub. There is no estimated delivery which is weird since I had a Tuesday delivery originally. Hopefully they bring it to the local hub tomorrow. That would be great.
Well, I got tired of waiting. I was looking at my tracking and realized that it said Fedex Home delivery which I know doesn't run Monday so I knew I wouldn't be getting it till Tuesday. I ended up going to Best Buy and buying one there. It's a 32gb even though I had preordered the 64gb. Once I get the one I preordered I'll decide which one to keep and send back the other.
As soon as I got home with my Apple TV I got an alert saying the one I had ordered won't be here till Tuesday, as I had thought. I was one of the ones that paid for fast shipping.
I just can't believe Apple did this to so many customers. It's just horrible and it does make me reluctant to preorder from them again.

So based on your own usage of it and the largely positive reviews it's getting, you're deeming it underwhelming? Ok.
Even after sending me an email saying they are shipping a replacement expedited...still no indication that it shipped. Sheesh
No update from the Western Canada front. Imagine the UPS horse & Buggy express is still in Ontario somewhere trotting along.
Anyways, went to my nearest Apple store and tried the new Apple TV for a bit and I cannot wait to get mine this week. Didn't buy one there since I bought my mom's xmas present already..Pink sport apple watch.
