Well, if you don't want dramatic Hardware price increases every event this is the only way for Apple to maintain its margins. They aren't going to lower margins by anything remotely punitive. Apple's future is getting people to buy into the Services for their devices. It's a fairly simple model.

It's the same for Google and Amazon Services.

With Apple One only recently having a price increase in Europe, increasing it again so soon is kind of ridiculous.

Well, I don't subscribe to Arcade or TV+, but I did subscribe to Apple News. No more, $12.99 is way overpriced for what you get.

I tried both Arcade and TV+ before, but neither really has any content I'd pay for.

I feel like Apple TV+ is worth it, but $12.99 for news?!

None of these were even worth their original launch price. And they haven't gotten better. Maybe, MAYBE TV+ for one month when all of Severance season 2 is out.

But Arcade? WTF have they done to justify ANY price increase? News+ is still absolutely crammed with ads and the only useful information is all available for free elsewhere.

Yeah I have yet to meet a person who actually subs to News+ outside of being in their Apple One sub.
I did, though I kind of feel stupid for it. If it was just news without ads, $9.99 isn't that bad, but $12.99, nope, I just cancelled it after reading the first post in this thread.

Given this news I looked to see if I could unbundle my Apple one subscription. Looks like they priced it perfectly for me to stay.
My family uses the 2 TB option, the only streaming service we subscribe to is Apple TV+, and we are heavy into Apple Music. All the other services I could easily get rid of!
Individually subscribing would be about $37 per month (see below). For one dollar more I can occasionally dabble with Fitness+ and the crosswords on News.
Got me again, Apple, but it doesn’t feel good to be paying this much each year.

$37.95/mo.per month
Save $29/mo.** on the most iCloud+ storage and all six Apple subscriptions.

i get it but it still stinks. I have 2 TB iCloud , Apple TV+ family plan with my wife. I would love to get Apple One but I don’t care about arcade (I have a Nintendo Switch) . I would be interested in One if I could pick Apple care

You could go Apple One Family and then just update to storage from 200GB to 2TB. That comes to $32.95. That is what I'm debating. Puts be back at the yesterday price and I just loss Fitness+ and News+ (which I rarely use).
Can you break down that math for me because I'm not following.
$17 Music + $10 2TB + $10 Apple TV

Tim looking over at Netflix and Disney watching them raise their prices thinking he can do the same, as much as I enjoy some of the content on ATV+ it’s not worth the price rise. Let’s call it what it actually is, greed. Nothing more nothing less. I’ve cancelled my Netflix and Disney accounts for hawking their customers, I’m not invested enough in Apple TV+ to injest a price rise. Shareholders should be happy though, that’s how it usually works with Wall Street. Mention price rise watch the stock price go up.

Kinda a funny move. Maybe I am an exception but I was leaving the Apple TV subscription going because it was so cheap and I occasionally would use it but now that it's going to be raised to 9.99 that was enough to make me cancel. They have some great shows but they have very little content on the whole and not much new coming out frequently.

Lol at Apple fans complaining about price. Apple is quite aware y'all got money.

I've got money because I don't spend it on unnecessary crap, such as 90% of services offered by Apple and others. I'm pretty anti-subscription, including apps.

I slightly joke as we have a very healthy income, but spend very little on entertainment other than travel.

these are some hard to justify increases.

I have Apple one Premiere, and as someone who used Apple News+ from launch up until a year or so ago, it’s definitely not worth 12.99. It was hard to justify at 9.99.

Even with the streaming service price creep, TV+ doesn’t feel worth 9.99. Not to pay for every month at least.

I’m someone who actually enjoys Arcade+ a lot (other than your save magically disappearing when the game leaves the service in most cases) and felt it was well worth 4.99, but I know most others don’t. And 6.99 has essentially out priced its value even to me. I mean, damn.

I think Apple should have paced themselves a bit more. These are steep increases, and if they don’t increase for another 2-3 years they’re somewhat tolerable. But if they’re just gonna do the same in 12-18 months, I can’t imagine staying for another increase.

I assume since it’s Apple their thought process was to overprice the individual services so that Apple One is more appealing. I think the premiere price should have went to 34.95 instead of of 37.95. This would have left them more room for future increases.

I’m begrudgingly holding for now, but one more price increase and I’m dropping the bundle, for sure.

It’s trickle down from the writers strike and if the actors get their way it will go up again. They want 1 dollar fee for every show on any streaming platform.
It's also pretty insulting to raise prices so much when the writers were just out for months and the actors are STILL out. New content isn't exactly in decent supply. (Unless of course we look at things that were done beforehand but just not released yet...or whatever studios were able to continue)

Apple News would be the best option if not for the ads or if the they would stop shipping a universal app or if they made the universal app do things one expects on MacOS like responsive layout, ability to make the font much bigger, a reader mode ... but nope. It has more ads than anything else.

I will also stop my Apple One subscription. I would like the option to get a custom bundle that wasn't stupidly priced. I don't need Arcade or 2TB of iCrap (I mean iCloud) or a ****** News experience. But the bundle they offer costs more than a bundle without these. SMH

Torrents for-ever I guess.
If you go to your Subs section on your phone, you can pick which parts of Apple One you want to keep. That is what I did earlier this morning.
