What did you expect from Cook, the the penny wise pound foolish CEO?
Same as I would expect from the CEO of any corporation: maximizing profits and shareholder returns. It's literally their job. Corporations are not our "friends". Their interests may align with ours, but if you think any company isn't doing it for the money, you're deluded.

So when the prices were raised last year before the strikes, what was that?

Last year's increase was in part a reflection of more content on TV+ and not having increased the price for three years.

Go calculate the percentage change each time and get back to me.

The increase in 2022 came out to an average of around 12% per year. This year's increase is around 43% in just one year. Based on that, I don't think it's unreasonable to conclude that the writer and actor strikes may have played a role.

No they didn't
Back in July when I renewed my annual Apple TV+ it went up from $49 to $69/yr or approx 40%. Now it will be going to $99/yr which is 100% increase within a little more than a year and approx another 43% increase in 3 mos. Apple is either overpaying for their content or funding TC's stock bonus awards at our expense.

Can you break down that math for me because I'm not following.
$17 Music + $10 2TB + $10 Apple TV
Apple One Family is $25.95 and include Apple TV+, Arcade, Music and 200GB of iCloud+. You can upgrade iCloud to 2TB for $7 more (or at least you could). Takes you to $32.95

So your renewal came due that's why, the price change went into effect last year. You likely renewed right before it

Inflation...inflation...inflation. It's an ugly mess as all companies eventually adjust. Hope my job adjusts.

Last week, I started a one-month trial of Apple Arcade to see how it is since it doesn't have any annoying ads or in-app purchases. I initially thought that the $4.99 subscription fee was reasonable, but I'm not sure about the recent price hike to $6.99 as everything seems to be getting more expensive these days.

I don't believe increasing the price for Apple TV+ is a wise decision due to the extremely limited content. It is not worth using the service.

My wife and I enjoy binge watching a lot of series so we have Max, Disney+Hulu Ad-free, Netflix,Paramount+,Apple TV+, and Youtube Premium.
I have cancelled all but Max (get free with AT&T phone plan) and Apple TV+ (have Apple One Family). Will cycle the others periodically as needed to binge new shows we love, then cancel again. They have made it so no one will want to just stay subscribed with these prices. They will lose huge in the long-run. I will likely now only get each one of the above a few months out of the year. Important to sign-up again and immediately cancel so won't get recurring charges. If they were smart they would have hugely discounted one-year plans.

Admittedly I can be a bit cheap but....personally, I don't think I've EVER used Apple Fitness or Apple News, and Apple TV+ I may have visited a few times for the baseball games...which I can do without. Apple One may be going the way of the dodo. I'll still pay for Apple Music and back up the phone once a month on the Mac but the rest can go pound sand.

Anyone know what the UK price increase will be for Apple One premier?

Maybe so but it still amounts to 100% increase in 2 billing cycles. Even though the $ amount is comparatively small that's still an outrageous % increase. We have it for convenience since it used to be so inexpensive. We only watch a few shows occasionally. It's Tim Cook's greed factor (nickel and dime) that annoys me so much.

I swear all these companies they have a person who licks their finger, sticks it in the air and decide what price to charge next.. without reason..
