Apple HomeHub? That's me still on my soapbox trying to convince myself that a new more powerful SoC will have it as the heart of a push by Apple into smart home stuff where the box currently called Apple TV becomes a local AI engine to run LLMs locally, maybe do analysis on video feeds (like the Frigate add-on for Home Assistant does) etc.

Or maybe Apple could take inspiration from Prince and name it with an unpronounceable symbol and then in future we can all refer to it as "the hardware formerly known as Apple TV".

Agreed, I think they need free tiers of every product. Apple Fitness could give access to a few free workouts a week and no ability to create custom plans. + has everything. iCloud+ makes sense already.

ok I can see one of their updated products this week/month being an Apple TV box with a slightly different name. I can’t see them having the service and box with the same name.

They should. Makes no sense to have a Fitness+ when there isn't a Fitness.

I would imagine if the Apple TV box gets updated/renames this week then they’ll be saving updating all the marketing changes til then to do it in one fell swoop.

Ironically Apple was never more consistent with names than today. It got way more chaotic after they released the first iPhone and it's easier than ever (with some exceptions)
