Wow, another streaming service that I won't be subscribing to.
Same. Watching TV series or movies is just not my thing.

So why did you bother clicking on the thread to reply? People are so weird.

There’s literally less than 10 shows available. I was half expecting a few hundred movies too. Guess I’ll be restarting my Netflix account again 🙄

You were expecting a few 100 movies that Apple never promised, talked about or even eluded to? Strange.

Agree with the comments regarding a pretty crappy interface for their content.

Okay I may have been mistaken but I thought both Disney and Apple said they won't be releasing them all at once to prevent binge watching.
I don't think they care - it's not like people are going to go broke for $5 - both services are priced to leave it and forget it. On the other hand, Netflix at $16 (my current plan) its way over price compare to the competition.

I just see a 7 day free trial option in my account.. had bought a 11 pro max on 20 Sep, 2019.. do I need to do any special steps for getting the free 1 year trial.
Maybe you purchased the phone with a guest checkout? Check your order confirmation. If it’s a guest checkout, you should be able to associate the order with your account ?

3 episodes? Is that the whole season? Wtf
They're doing weekly releases rather than dumping a whole season at a time.

Free 1 year trial was also recognized for a refurbished 2018 mac mini bought last week, for those interested if refurb products are elgible.
Good to hear, I just bought a refurb iMac too.

Just finished watching The Morning Show- not bad actually.
The most annoying thing is I had to pause a few times and when I came back it went all the way back to the beginning each time- I really hope that Apple fixes this....

I can understand the content being light. But the app being garbage isn’t excusable. Heck the app itself should be the major strength here. Instead it’s probably the worst streaming app I’ve ever seen. The UI is horrible. It’s filled with competitors content that Apple is desperate to sell you.

So I watched the morning show. Not as bad I expected although had to forward through some obvious crap. It ends. “Up next” pops up with other shows I’ve watched. But why didn’t episode 2 pop up as option?

So have to back out. Find episode 2. Press play. Watch a recap of episode one. Credits. No way to skip these.

Is this really the best that the brilliant minds at apple can come up with? Maybe they need to hire someone who knows how to make a decent app.

i watched dickinson for like three minutes and i had to turn that **** off the music was awkward as hell the direction and set design were stilted and weird the “acting” from that one 30 rock lady who played the mom was out of place the dialogue was trash man what the hell

So who paid those critics to leave bad reviews of the morning show??? I totally love it

I agree I’m so tired of 90% of the content it recommends I don’t have access too and I already pay for DTV Netflix and Hulu you think it would recommend more of what I have access to it’s almost counter productive to use the app.

It’s been well known since the beginning that Apple TV+ would only be Apple funded original content. No one at Apple ever said it would include iTunes movies and TV shows. If it did it would be crazy expensive. I don’t think anyone at Apple is expecting people to ditch Netflix for this. For those who can only afford one subscription service my guess is Disney+ will be the winner there.

Won’t argue with another Prince fan but it was rumored and not known that it might be Apple originals only. And the comment about the pricing, instead of throwing millions on producing content why not just invest that crazy amount of cash in licensing just like what the Apple Music department does?

I don’t get the target customer. What ist Apples long term goal with this?

I‘ve had the same issue.
Contacted Apple support to sort out.
The only option was to go via browser on my MacBook
http://tv.apple.com/de (for Germany)
There I found the option for one year.
The same didn’t work on iPad as it started the app instead.

Cool. I got a year free. Got a new iPhone in June. So not sure how I got it.

I'll try this when I get my new iPhone next month, but I am not sold on it yet. I feel that this is the best set of streaming options:
1. Amazon Prime (especially if you are a Amazon junky like I am)
2. Disney+ (Disney, ESPN, Hulu no ads)
3. Netflix

That gives a well rounded catalog and original offerings.

it is ESPN+ which doesn't include any of ESPNs main channels.

Don't have a family plan. Think it said because I purchased a MacBook pro. But i purchased that in 2015
Are you on a Family Plan? Did anyone else in your family buy a new iPhone? That's how I was eligible.

The idea is so you keep subscribed and don't subscription surf. I also think they would do it that way so at the end of a year when the trial is up you can't ditch the service if you want to see the end. They are aiming for a continuous money flow not people to subscribe for a month and drop it.

For those can't get One Free Year Subscription when you have an apple qualified hardware purchased. Click on this link, sign in with your apple ID. Enjoy your one year. Have fun.

Cool - they got the browser client working - watching on my $90 Chromebook right now, and the FREE year...

Apple's KILLING IT RIGHT NOW....

Disney, you're up next... ;)

I didn't have to do anything special. It offered me the full year trial right away. (iPhone 11 Pro Max)
Mine said my new iPhone gave me a free year, and I clicked to start... it asked me to double click to confirm... and then it immediately billed my Apple Card $5.41. Is this supposed to be a temporary authorization?
