I cancelled a few months ago. It's just not worth it. I was always against subscriptions but during covid I started watching tv again and subscribed to them all for the ease and sharing with my brothers family next door. But after we sold the business and stopped having the extra income I cancelled all of them. I watched all the tv that I never watched on TV from the '90's to '10's during covid like all of Star Trek, Breaking Bad, Big Bang Theory, etc. The only Apple TV shows I finished were Foundation, Severance, Physical, Murderbot, and Pluribus; I started Ted Lasso and The Morning Show but lost interest halfway through 2nd seasons. And waiting for years for the next season I can subscribe for a month when they are out or steal them, watch once, and delete.
The overall gross margin of Apple services may be 76% but TV+ is still losing significant money every year.
If corporate America had its way, public libraries would not exist.
I will never pay to watch the MLS (I love soccer but MLS? lol) and MLB (I mean, baseball is not a sport)

After Apple Music went up, I figured an Apple TV+ increase was inevitable. I will still subscribe because they have amazing content (And Silo was great last night) but once these shows end I'll think twice.
Seriously I could just cancel all the services and take an ambien and be in the exact same situation.

They did then how in season 3 by tidying up all lose ends. However season 4 thus far is excellent. If you’re a Ted lasso fan I think you will enjoy this.
People in NA felt for the fearmongering of "Torrents" being full of virus and stuff like adware.
But nevermind, companies are free to push ads on any of their services, guys. And they still want you to pay for it 🙂
And time and time again, if something gets pirated, it means it is a good product and that it will get sales. I have yet to hear/read about a software product that was good/popular, that got pirated a lot and that brought down their company.
I think even Microsoft has gotten over it lately, and just accepted it. There was a time when Microsoft was in the fore-front of combating Windows/Office piracy, but they learned later, that this allowed them to have ample marketshare, which pushed business to use Office/Windows on their workplaces for their employees which gave them more B2B contracts.
Videogames and movies are another example. No one cares to pirate ET the videogame. Not even Atari cares about it. Nintendo has had their games pirated for years, and yet, they still do pretty well in software sales, even on their smaller IPs (something Sony would love to brag about). While they fight tooth and nail against it (I assume, to protect their IP), they know it allows them to reach a wider public and give them notoriety.
Point is, if you have a good product, money will still come in. Piracy might in theory make you lose money, but it will spread your product usage by word of mouth and establish you as a leader in the long run.

I've been getting the Pluto link from elsewhere for a long time now. I don't think Pluto even cares.
It doesn't skip the ADs or anything, it's just a nicer watching experience on Apple devices.
I just went to cancel and they gave me 2 months for 6.99....so I guess I better watch everything in the next 2 months then I will probably forget to cancel then....ahhh they got me.

We were similar. We subscribed to ATV I think at the lower price. We tried Ted lasso when it first came out and couldn’t get halfway through the first season. Fast forward to 2023, we said everyone’s raving about Ted lasso, maybe we should give it another chance.
By the third episode we were hooked. Then the morning show and then severance. And along the way some of the less well known ones.
Excellent shows.

The few times I had free trials for Apple TV, I just could not get into any of those shows, so, I'm not impacted by this increase.
I am careful with streaming subscriptions, we have 3 that we regularly use. And yes, prices for those continue this same pattern, up.

Dont steal stuff. If it's worth it pay for it. Your perception of it being harmless doesnt mean on the margin it isnt harmless but the real reason is we shouldn't rationalize stealing.
Eventually, most of these subscription services will go the way of the dodo. People will simply get more efficient and realize they can live without them very happily.
Apple is becoming a joke. It is not some immortal company that will always be successful no matter what. People will stop bending over eventually.
