Macrumors avoids some rumors because the info is obviously unlikely or the images clearly doctored.Remember, it was Prosser alone who predicted flat edges. No one else credible did.

Prosser: Apple Watch Series 7 to Feature Flat-Edged Design, New Green Color Option
The upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 will feature a flat-edged design, similar to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, and the addition of a new green case...www.macrumors.com
Not.Apple was CLEARLY behind a mis/dis information campaign about what this new device would look like. They are still the master.
Do not compare a watch with an iPhone. It is a different market, believe me. There are Hermès Apple watches. There are Hermès watches in the luxury segment. Hermès follows a design language. Not all Apple watches are Hermès, but Apple follows a different strategy with their watches, which alignes to that market. You may change a phones appearance radically, but do not do it with a watch. The appearance of an Apple watch is already kind of iconic.I disagree. The Apple Watch is distinctive, but not iconic. The iPhone is by far a more popular and recognizable device, and yet Apple had no problem going to flat edges with the iPhone 12 after several years of rounded edges.
I like Apple Watch for its utility, not its form. I initially did not like the idea of a flat edge Apple Watch, but after seeing renders of what it could look like, I preferred its design over the current bulbous form (as long as they can ensure the flat edges won’t cut dig into the skin).
Looks like some last minute decisions due to component shortages and Covid challenges.what a weak update. have they already ran out of ideas for Apple Watch?
We are completely off-topic here, yegon, but I just share exactly your thoughts...The iPad Mini is the one thing from it that is vaguely interesting.
Not for me, still super happy with my 2018 11” iPP for on the go use, but that Mini is very appealing.

It is weird that they didn't differentiate between models. So more durable - is it sapphire? What’s the mohs hardness/scratchability?
obviously the future is new health sensors but those take longer to develop and approve than apple's yearly cycle. hence "s-style" updates every other year or sowhat a weak update. have they already ran out of ideas for Apple Watch?
