And don't forget iPod OS.Why they didn't just kill off the iOS name and go with iPadOS and iPhone OS I don't know.
Dumb question but I “need” to ask. Can we unload files FROM the iPad TO the HDD? Like could I unload all my photos from my iPad to the HDD or is it read only?
Your lucky all iPad Pros will qualify, not so for iPad Mini users less than series 4Hope my Original 9.7" iPad Pro (the first iteration) qualifies for this..but i'm doubtful.
Apparently all iPad Pro models are included.Hope my Original 9.7" iPad Pro (the first iteration) qualifies for this..but i'm doubtful.
The way I got it, ALL sites will load to desktop mode by default, right? Are we now able to set certain sites to always load in desktop mode?
Boom! This is massive!! Now bring on the video editing apps!!To everyone wondering- the answer for copying files is yes. You can drag files from the files app right to a USB and you can select photos in the phots app and copy them to a folder right on the drive.![]()

Thanks for doing all of this and hate to ask for anything else but have you tested using the mouse with a spreadsheet app? Selecting multiple cells, rows, columns in addition to single cells?Yep! The iMovie app already feels twice as useful with a mouse, honestly.
Now, THAT'S a Mac-like style device..
What starts off with larger iPad's usually come to 9.5' models too.
(Just about everything else has)
No Floppy Drive Support??? DEAD IN THE WATER.
Seriously...
I have an iPad Air 2, got it 4.5 years ago, used it some for games and surfing. Never really saw the value.
Over the past year or so iPad's utility has increased but never quiiiiiiiite enough for me to care.
This probably changes everything - along with sidecar in Catalina.
I haven't felt this good about an Apple presentation in many, many years!
Nice work, folks!
For a Touch OS all it needs is the mouse to simulate a finger without having to touch the screen so you can work on it like a laptop/desktop. The current mouse implementation is 95% there for a lot of iPad users.
No one is asking for full mouse support. That is what the Mac is for.
What is the file type in the ipad before you copied it to the usb?And I put the USB in my MacBook Pro. The document I copied came in a .docx format (Microsoft Word for iPad) and the photos are in the .HEIC (Apple camera) format. This is a whole new way of using my iPad.
So you used a wireless bluetooth mouse and it worked?Unfortunately, as before, it will not recognize a magic trackpad or a magic mouse in the Bluetooth settings. Some kind of a software limitation as it has always been. It works with a third-party Logitech MX anywhere 2 mouse fine.
The same. What is the file type in the ipad before you copied it to the usb?
Yes. Logitech MX Anywhere 2 works fine.So you used a wireless bluetooth mouse and it worked?
