This is exactly what im trying to figure out myself as there aren’t huge differences between the 12 and 12 Pro. I already have a Fuji x100F camera that I can use if I want higher quality photos.

pro gives you telephoto "true portrait lens" and better autofocus because of Lidar. I'm not sure if the apple pro raw format is throughout the line or just pro phones. The Tele lens and better autofocus is my main reason for going with the pro. I have 8+ and use that tele all the time.
Please help me out here.

Apple is pulling a fast one on the consumers. Their web site has intermixed the camera specs (max vs non-max) so a side-by-side compare can't be done as it can for all other technical differences - two columns. They want the consumer to be uninformed while the advert is still correct.
well we will need to see them working in real world but iP Pro regular camera has a 47% lrger sensor, this should improve a lot low light performance, more over in video.
This is the first time Pro version has a significant better camera.
Im not concerned about OLED The most inportant feature to me vs iP 11 would be refresh rate, that is really something you can tell in a screen.
Easy to downplay something to give yourself last reason to get itMeh. Slightly faster, same ugly notch and no screen changes (larger - but at the cost of a larger phone), meaningless 5G and LiDAR scanner (pure gimmick), and forced to get an unwieldy giant phone if you want a meaningful camera upgrade. SMHLidar will be very good for portrait mode alone.
There is a reported difference in maximum brightness... So unless this is a software limitation on the regular 12, it seems to be different panels...
No different to most companies who count it similar way... The digital zoom will be whst will be impressive. The image processing should make the improvements rather big
I don’t really take advantage of the telephoto lens. I have only taken 326 portrait photos since it was first introduced with the iPhone 7 Plus. Im a bit concerned about battery life if I downgrade to the 12/12 Pro. I currently have the 11 Pro Max because I have my personal and work sim in it, but have grown tired of the size/weight. Mind you, most of the time I use it without a case, or use an ultra thin case from Caudabe. So im wondering if having 3 hours of less battery life will impact me greatly or not. Btw, ProRaw will only be available on the Pro Max.

These keynotes seem so cold and impersonal now. I get that they are virtual, but they all seem like people grown in a lab with no personality. I’d prefer someone just standing on stage instead of going to these weird places inside Apple Park. I don’t lnow, it just seems so corporate and cold to me while trying to seem down to earth.

After having the 5S, with its horrible bevel edge which cut into my hands and was horrible to hold, the iPhone 12 is a model I won't be going anywhere near, regardless of any wizardry that might be inside of it.
Agreed. I was hoping to get a blue 12 pro max to match my blue Apple Watch S6, but I guess it’s black/grey again for the 13th year in a row.
LOL - You’re right! I’m always curious to see what potential features might come out in the new iPhone, but in reality, the surprise and fun has been taken away to a certain extent... unless I chose to bury my head in the sand for 12 months...I am not to excited.
