Meh. I think this is the most underwhelming iPhone update for me in a while. Hopefully next year they ditch the lightning port.
Strong feeling that the iPhone will only be portless come 2022. MagSafe is the first step. Get people used to it first, then remove the port entirely. But I think they need 2 years for that so that most consumers would have already bought MagSafe chargers and accessories. Otherwise, consumers are gonna give them hell.

Ugh. The 'mm wave in the US' thing sucks. In Singapore, they're primarily rolling out mmwave at this point, but the iPhone sold here doesn't include it according to apple's specs. What a waste...

So the 6.1 Pro has a stainless steel band, a telephoto lens and Lidar sensor for (probably) an extra $200. Really doesn’t seem worth it to me now that the regular 12 has OLED.

And image stabiliser on 2 lenses rather than 1, slightly brighter screen, plus 64GB extra RAM. But it's also 25g heavier than the IP12 and the colour ranges may suit different tastes. Overall, it's effectively $150 more for a slightly better camera that's heavier to lug around.

Can see why the experts were predicting higher sales for the non-Pro IP12s . . . .

Meh. Slightly faster, same ugly notch and no screen changes (larger - but at the cost of a larger phone), meaningless 5G and LiDAR scanner (pure gimmick), and forced to get an unwieldy giant phone if you want a meaningful camera upgrade. What a joke, Apple. 🤦‍♂️ SMH
THIS is the best you could come up with?!

plus 64GB extra RAM.
You mean flash storage, and yes that effectively reduces the cost difference between them to $150 (although it was also rumored that the 12 Pros would get 6 GB of RAM while the regular 12s would only have 4 GB, but we won't know if that is true until people get their hands on these phones since Apple never divulges that information). If you really want the extra camera features it may be worth it but I suspect most who want the middle sized iPhone will go with the regular 12.

Calculating the zoom vs. the ultra wide is really quite a low trick.

yea, i'm a zoom guy, totally needs the biggest possible.
a real X5 optical zoom was my minimal expectation.
but THIS?
really disappointing, and now i'm stuck.
as i can only enjoy IOS.

Not a let down since pretty much everything was leaked, but man Apple is struggling to come up with new innovations. Flat edges with an improved camera (yawn) and a magnetic charger aren’t doing it for me.

Also, was battery life even mentioned? I don’t recall seeing anything regarding it.

I really don’t understand why people don’t get the zoom thing. There is nothing misleading about the way they are advertising it.

Decision made - 12 Pro Max, 128gb. I love the design. I haven’t decided on a color, but I got some time. I am currently using an XS Max and prefer the larger phones.

What made you upgrade? I have a XS Max as well, so I’m curious.

To those asking about that small pad under the sleep/wake button: It really seems to be part of the mmWave-antenna. AR-Visualisation on German Apple website does not show that pad. Makes sense, when non-US versions won’t support mmWave...
