Sounds like this is probably the last year of Intel support for macOS, based on what the dev preview is compatible with (https://lifehacker.com/tech/how-to-install-macos-26-tahoe-right-now-wwdc-2025):
The 2019 Mac Pro is Intel and the 2019 MacBook Pro models (and some 2020 models) are Intel. There are some Intel iMacs from 2020 as well, too. But it seems increasingly unlikely that macOS 27 is going to work with those—but who knows.

Love all the changes to macOS. Will definitely update my devices as soon as possible to try them out.
I think it looks like a decent update and I expect you will either be able to turn translucent stuff off or it will get adjusted in the Betas because so much of the Liquid Glass design is illegible.
I'm surprised no one has brought up the new sidebar design that sort of floats over the window and for some reason has the window controls embedded in it. I... don't like it. I always liked the subtle vibrancy effect on sidebars from Yosemite through Sequoia.

Egad! Vista is what got me to switch to Macs. I had just ordered a hot rod Lenovo T-61 laptop. When it arrived and I saw Vista for the first time, I packed it up, returned it, and drove to the Apple store for the very first time in my life.
This, window corners being even rounder (it was already too much cmon) and some apps they showed looking like GNOME apps, very mixed feeling so far.
Live Translation sounds like the "Big Deal" to me, especially ported to the AirPods Pro. My iPhone 15PRO is supported and I am eagerly awaiting this development. (I am going on a cruise around Japan that starts in Korea in late October.) Perhaps by then?
My hunch is that for true Alfred power users, probably not? But my usage is probably more basic, so I'll definitely be evaluating when Tahoe comes out.
No shade to Alfred -- I do like it a lot, but I also don't use many of the more hard core workflow features, and if I can make Spotlight do what I need I'll definitely be on board for trimming back on my software budget
All I wanted is a return to sanity in the System Settings app UI. I hope we can turn off all the Windows Vista glass effects.

I think they have overdone the glass effect. Frosted glass works in some situations but the distortions are just distracting. Some examples are way too washed out, like light grey text over a light grey background. There needs to be more contrast.
I wonder how many of Apple's UI designers are actually old enough to have seen Tiger.
