Is it possibile to set the menu bar black? So it would hide the notch….
thus for the meticulous, I noticed that the menu bar is also thicker then the notch…
and plz someone explain me why apple removed it from the marketing images!!🤬

Oh god I never thought this would happen. Looks like I’m holding onto my 2019 for the foreseeable future.
only because of the notch. It’s just ridiculous they even went there. When the lower bezel is still there they didn’t need to make a cutout in the screen. Last thing I wanted on my mac is Face ID.
It's technically hidden in the menu bar. If you're in a fullscreen app the top part is black. It's hidden. No need to worry.
And there's no Face ID, it's just for the camera. Face ID will probably come on next gen

Well, my 16" i7 MBP is crying now. Don't quite have the budget or need to jump on this one right away though.

$1999 starting price. 😞

More than I'd like to spend. I would have liked to see a replacement for the old 13" MBP with some of the new (old) features (MagSafe, no touch bar, HDMI) starting at around $1499 or so. I would have jumped at that.

Do you really need a "Pro" laptop for what you use if for? Be honest.

There's no face ID the notch was made to house a 1080p facetime camera. Next year they'll announce a smaller notch to partially solve the problem they've created.

So, would we technically be losing screen now? going from 16:10 to 16:9.x in full screen?

I just don't understand one thing. If the new processor is so power efficient, why they put it to the body 3x thicker than on prevoius (hungry) Intel model? Or did they do it for the first gen and for any other generation they just cut 1 mm in heigh to make every new generation more attractive than previous? Anyway, it would be a good plan for selling these things for the next decade without any real innovation.
