Actually, it doesn't. It looks extremely Classic Mac OS-like, harkening back to a more than 20-year-long tradition. Early versions of System had four rounded corner masks (to match, I believe, the roundrect shape of the CRT bezel on the plastic front plate of compact Macs and Apple monitors), and later versions, IIRC, kept two of them on the top. It’s a weird design choice to have rounded corners on the top of the screen but not on the bottom
RIP Aesthetics
Apple pushed industry standards by bringing back MagSafe, actual function keys (no more lame touch bar), and an HDMI port.Apple, good job. You've pushed the industry standards forward once again with the incredible performance.
It sure looks that way, but according to the spec sheet, it's nearly the exact same thickness as the current 13" MacBook Pro, only 0.01cm thicker.DAMN BOI HE THICKKK
If you work with images in full screen, doesn't full screen actually occupy only the 16:10 area? In other words, the notch doesn't come into play in full screen mode. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I thought the video showed some apps in full screen where content was below the notch only.Yes indeed, I can't believe they really added a horrible notch also to a Mac. Terrible choice Apple. I was definitely interested in this machine, but with a notch, NO WAY. I work with images and I don't want the images displayed be ruined by a notch. A notch!?! You must be kidding. Un be lie va ble.
It's not more screen real estate? It's less. It interferes with the (most foundational and important) objects that are constantly on my screen:I don’t understand, are people really complaining about having more screen real estate?
This machine will run circles around a Windows laptop from the early 2010. In fact, it will run circles around Windows laptops from early 2021 and later.I like the old design better. This looks like a Windows laptop from early 2010s, minus the thinness.
Intel does have a history of doing ******** marketing, read up in their paying benchmarks to look better or their recent weird adsRight yes, because anybody who dares criticise Apple must be an Intel staffer 🙄
Welcome to Tim Cook's Apple. Anyway I'll catch you on the flip side, I'm off to Samsung, whose innovation actually excites me and doesn't burn a hole in me wallet. They seem to be using the notch as a signature design. No need for it, it's there as much for form as function.
I recall a time when Apple designs were iconic for their beauty. Wasn't so long ago...
HDMI digital video output
Support for one display with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz
Welcome back to Apple before they re-hired Steve Jobs.Interesting to see new products that follow absolutely no discernible strategy.
Lol, it's not FaceID's fault, this thing doesn't have FaceID.THE NOTCH, AGAIN !!!!
OMG, please stop making ugly products !!!
Such an ugly piece of hardware.
Face ID must be the worst tech to come in a decade.
