Good question. Beats has their own updating app. I update my over the ear beats on my MBP while plugged into USB.

Oh I didn't know Beats has an app for that? Can you point me in to that direction, if you don't mind. Application? Website?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it on the Beats website. LOL Duh.

Someone else asked this but no one answered. We must be missing something re: Spatial Audio. Why do we want it to sound like the sound is coming from our phone or iPad? Wouldn't it be better to have traditional stereo sound where the sound feels like its all around us?

It does. Surround sound from all directions, and pointed sounds each from their own direction. Dialogue from the middle, if the character is there and the iPad is too. Above you, if the monster is there, coming through the roof. It sounds like a multi-speaker setup, centered on the device.

I was thinking the very same thing. Mine haven't updated yet and it's been charging for a long time now.

Doesn't affect it, mine is in the same condition. Followed instructions of placing them in charger, connecting charger to power, and pairing (with iPhone in my case). Left it for 10 mins., returned, and they were ready.

It's only coming from your ipad/iphone if the actual sound is coming from the center of what's getting displayed. Center of what you're viewing = your screen and then surroundings around your head. Sounds from the left are on the left, sound behind you are behind you,...

i wonder if this fixes the notorious bug of the battery levels not being reported properly. honestly, that's more important to me than the audio features that come with ios14 (i may change my mind once i have ios14 (not running the beta))

Do you leave the case open?

You may also “Forget This Device” your Airpods Pro to “officially” test it.

Quite impressive. Works best when you’re vertical, mixed results when diagonal or horizontal, but it still tries the best it can! :)
The audio stream is being modified in real time as the device or headphones change orientation.

Weird, my AirPods Pro are on A2084, I guess that's a super old version?

Edit: Never mind, I'm just an idiot.

Just watched a part of Blade Runner 2049 and sounds like a movie theater, it's quite impressive for such a small device.

Has this worked for anyone with an iPad? My iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (2nd generation) is not showing spatial audio even though my APP's updated.

I've tried this twice (forget + re-pair) but to no avail. I'm on the latest dev beta. I've tried restarting my phone twice, leaving on charger next to phone, leaving lid open for 15+ minutes, closing lid, putting earbuds in ears, then back in case, etc... seems like I've tried everything. Overall, I've been trying for over an hour. Still stuck on 2D27

?‍♂️ Apple needs to add a way to manually update.

How do you get that view on phone to show up showing Spatial Audio is on,thanks?
After updating swipe down from the top right and long press the volume button.

You have to be on the beta.
