I did just that on July 1st. Figured since the update it got at MacWorld was the first one in a year, we were stuck at these capacities/pricepoints for another year...go figure.
Does anyone actually care about Time Capsule??? Its too slow IMO to be used for backups.
That's easy. Install a linux machine and install MT-DAAPD (a daap daemon) 😀
What makes you think it is too slow? You just set it up, and eventually you have a backup. First backup takes a while, but who cares?
Still, I'd rather see an iTunes Server than 2TB Time Capsule..
hehe indeed, I've bought mine 2 months ago. But I don't need more 😉The riots will begin soon from people who just bought the old models at the old prices . . .
For mere mortals, easy and linux are two words that just don't go together. 😀
We want a nice simple Apple solution that does all the hard work for you. 😉
Hehe, point taken 😉 You could also get a Mac Mini and share iTunes on that, or some cheap computer and install the windows 🙂o) or mac gui version of mt-daapd / firefly on there.
Wireless fluctuations, Ive never had a wireless system operate at full speed.
