No I don't waste time with opinions. And I don't believe in this "everyone has an opinion" nonsense. I stated facts. You came up with your own that suited your argument. Nothing else has happened here. You get to state an opinion, I get to state an opinion...that's how in internet discussion forums works? Saying what is reality or not, is based on ones biases, which amounts to just another opinion. Right?
The fact is apple included a usb-c cable with the iPhone 12. Virtually every post on that is an opinion. No I don't waste time with opinions. And I don't believe in this "everyone has an opinion" nonsense. I stated facts. You came up with your own that suited your argument. Nothing else has happened here.
Including a cable that doesn't plug in to most chargers, most outlets, most cars, most installations, most accessories, most places...isn't accelerating any kind of transition, I can assure you of that. It's just a cable that gets put in a drawer, maybe to used some day in the future.No. If you don’t have a USB-A lightning cable already *and* you don’t have a USB-C charger anywhere in the house, you’re in the minority of iPhone 12 customers. “Shipping a cable that most people will throw in a drawer” I would stay that’s more applicable to the USB-A cable, not USB-C.
Of course you can’t snap your fingers to make that happen, that’s why you start accelerating this USB-C transition by including USB-C by default.
It’s called being jaded and spoiled. Is the iphone 12 the peak? Are we going to see the inevitable 'regression to the mean' in the coming years?
I no longer get excited for new product launches, don't have a burning desire to own the new tech immediately. Maybe I am just getting old and grumpy.
Because she is one of the few execs there thats not another middle aged white guy. Next Question. This woman has no presence whatsoever. Why is she constantly being pushed front and center in all these promos and media pieces?
According to MR posters, usb-c is the next coming revolution in tech and why didn't apple change the port on the iphone to usb-c. Given that type of hubris, why wouldn't Apple include a usb-c in the box?Including a cable that doesn't plug in to most chargers, most outlets, most cars, most installations, most accessories, most places...isn't accelerating any kind of transition, I can assure you of that. It's just a cable that gets put in a drawer, maybe to used some day in the future.
She didn’t say that. She said the front got 4 times more shatter proof, the back 2 times more – than before (not than each other). I would expect the back to have been far more sturdy all along.
For every "youtuber" that shows the iphone 12 can break, another will show it won't break. Too many variables in the way a phone can be dropped to say definitively either way.
MagSafe Matchbox!your car wouldn`t fit anyways

This can be taken a step further. My xs max came with a 5w charger. To work as intended I would have had to shell out $$$ for a usb-c to lightning cable as well as a PD charger. My use case is to charge overnight and therefore speed of charging is not relevant to me. But you are correct in that if your use case is to charge as fast as possible 100% of the time, you need spend the extra $20 for the charger.
2 x should be pronounced 2 times. Really don’t like this new speech habit in tech. Hope nobody says things like that in math class.
I may not be typical, but I have at least 10 lightning to USB A cables in the house, 6 of them Apple. Additionally I have a Qi charger. I also shelled out for a usb-c to lightning cable as my car has a usb-c PD port for CarPlay.I also have the XS, and to me the included charger helped me with the same deal as you. I always charge overnight, so in that sense it's irrelevant. However, the new iPhone it means the new USB-C cable can't be used with that charger. So if my old cable breaks, there goes $ for a new charger.
So yeah... not happy as it always means I have the shell cash for compatibility future state vs ensuring compatibility with the already created ecosystem of chargers.
Is Apple trying to get rid of her? She is so not likable and not a screen persona. She is irritating in pretty much everything she does, from fake TV smile and enthusiasm to giving a speech.
Right. Of course, it’s obvious that anyone who has a different opinion than you must be paid to have that opinion, because only your way of looking at things is valid. Give me a F’ing break. We've got a number of apple employees in this thread it looks like
hi guys!
Wow, Apple is going all out with the PR and marketing this time. I mean when's the last time we have Apple people going into podcasts? Is this part of the contract with Verizon, for Apple to help them market 5G?
More USB-C cables - more opportunities to sell chargers as an accessory.
It's almost as if it was designed to nudge people into buying their charger.
"Congratulations on the choice of your new iPhone. You know we're not including the power adapter anymore, for environmental reasons. Of course we're still including a cable. Can be used with any standard USC-C charger. Cause it's the new standard that will be everywhere, eventually. So... do you already have a USB-C power adapter? No..? Would you like me to get one for you from the shelf? It's only $19."
The cable is so thin and lightweight that nobody will get concerned about the environment (plus, it's the same worldwide, so no localisation costs).
As long as you’re on a pedantic rant, please explain how you east pizza. We have an English word for 2 times..... It's Twice.
My car is Twice as fast
I can east Twice as much pizza than you gave me.
