Apple Watch 2 Wishlist

Apple watch 2 if it will be a redesign and a beautiful one, nobody will give a **** about other things
i really love my new rolex (i used to hate rolex because they only had many sportier looks) but this is too classy and a design that can last decades...so from this idea Apple watch needs an endless design because first thing IT IS a watch, an object you wear. They need this

Nice Cellini!

My wish list are the common, 'thinner and better battery life" but VERY close to those is almost just as important to me: Able to use v1 bands.

Which is more important: thinner or more battery?

If they can make it 40% thinner and keep the same battery life, I would take that over 40% better battery life but the same thickness. Of course, this all depends on how 'new features' would affect battery life as well. I would love built-in GPS, and I would give up on a thinner design to make that happen.

If we get more features, like the GPS, that would be great. I'd like for it to remain the same thickness and get better battery life. Also, thinner means less potential for a dramatically faster device.

I would like it to be faster and more responsive.

The 'wrist raise' feature needs to be more sensitive. The heart rate checking and phone-linked apps need to be near instantaneous. For some apps there's more than a 10 second delay, and that's a significant disincentive to use them. The screen needs to be more responsive. The work out apps need to allow more customisation. The non-Apple apps need to be able (or allowed) to run as fast as the Apple ones.

I'd like it to have GPS for the outdoor running work out app, or better interact with the iphone, like it does for the cycling work out app.

I recognise that a lot of these limitations are conscious compromises by Apple to enable the watch to have the battery life it has, in the form it has. And I don't think they can allow battery life to be any shorter.

Ultimately, I would like a thinner watch, but I don't think that's realistic, or a priority at the moment.

More health sensors would be nice.

I'm in the market and finding it very difficult not to spring for a SS and an hermes band. But given the timing I just have to hold off. For the AW2 I would definitely like a snappier cpu and in-built GPS.

BTW my Huawei android watch has a great feature that could easily be ported to the AW: you can set the watch face to either:
-turn off completely
-stay on completely
-dim, leaving only the primary parts of a given watch face (e.g. the hands and numbers) lit dimly though still easy enough to read without lighting up the entire watch

It's a great feature that allows me to leave the time showing all the time and get around 1.5 days of battery life.

I'm not sure if this is an Apple Watch 2 or WatchOS 3 wish: use the Digital Crown to scroll right and left in Glances. I feel stupid swiping my finger back and forth to get to my furthest right and left glances. Plus, the Watch usually freezes momentarily about midway "across" the list.

Whether the first generation didn't quite do it for you; You never buy first gen Apple products on principle; Or you bought the first generation Watch and there are things you dislike... Whatever your reason: What does everyone want to see in the second generation Apple Watch?

I'll get the ball rolling:
>More capable away from iPhone
>Faster: Everyone complains about app loading times. Not sure if this is because the apps aren't native of just the processor is slow to save battery life.
>The same battery life, or better. I don't mind charging the watch every night. 18 hours of mixed use would get me from my 5.30am start to half past 11 at night.
When in exercise mode and the activity is paused have the watch ask to restart activity if movement is indicated. Too many exercise monitors rely on the user to restart. The watch should be smart enough to know when the user has started to move.

This is an excellent idea! I find myself rarely using glances because swiping through them is awkward and time consuming. If we could scroll with the Digital Crown I would probably use more glances.

So far all these ideas seem pretty incremental, which makes me wonder if there are any good ideas left to make this product a killer product.

Personally, I want third party watch faces, more aesthetically pleasing form factor, and better third party apps.

I guess the third party apps are ultimately what will make the Apple Watch go beyond fitness data geekdom.

I'd love to be able to log a workout manually.

I play hockey and sometimes play goal. It is a lot of work but the Watch just doesn't fit under my body armour. So no credit for this workout messes up otherwise perfect weeks.

This is a really good idea. Even editing an existing workout for those times your might forget to stop the workout. Just editing the time length is a good idea.

Yes, the ability to edit would be wonderful! I'm not a huge exercise/workout person but I get my exercise walking. When I don't do anything in the Workout app I will usually get some credit for exercise and it logs my steps but usually like if I take a 20 minute walk I only get credit for 10. If I take a 20 minute outdoor walk in the Workout app, I will usually get credit for even less. It is very frustrating!

Use workout other to get full credit no matter how fast or slow you walk. Seriously, it isn't always right the way it counts for some people so workout other is a very good choice.

I'm waiting to buy until at least version 2.

Looking for the following:

Better battery life
GPS/cellular
Faster processor/less lag
Better health and fitness apps

  • I view the watch as a tech device for the wrist. So I don't care if it looks like a nice watch, is thinner or round. I just want it to offer Apple-worthy wfeatures.

Until these happen, I'm not buying in.

My must have list for the AW:
- GPS
- Altimeter
- Thermometer
- ability to select constant hear rate
- pause activity (when stopped running in between sets for example)
- extended battery life (I would love to have the same life as my Garmin Fenix 3)
- more detailed workout pre-selects (i.e row machine, skiing, swimming etc)
- guaranteed water resistance

I was initially a bit Meh about cellular connectivity, as long as the watch holds a list of contacts, you can just retrieve a number and use a pay phone in an emergency. However, it would be really sweet if the watch at least supported 800MHz LTE only (along with VoLTE obviously), only requires a small antenna and low cost LTE chip for the one frequency band. The watch already supports wifi calling on networks in the US, so that's a good start. I suspect this might be more like an Apple Watch 3 feature though, once SIM cards are embedded and the gap between the iPhone and the watch starts to diminish. Nevertheless, could be handy and never know what surprises Apple has in store for the Apple Watch 2. Incidentally, this could bring GPS support from the same chip to improve loading times and accuracy on maps, especially when phone is out of range, dead or left at home.

Faster processor with same/more battery life.
Thinner profile, still looks chunky on my wrist.
IPhone independence
LTE
More flexibility with OS
More health sensors (in band)

They can put the LTE radio antenna in the band, and I would love to see shared cellular data from one iPhone cell data account, so we don't have to spend another monthly fee just for cellular data on the watch.
