The S4 model 44mm stainless steel was on sale, from $849 to $424 @ Target

So, I checked into this and Target is claiming they never offered the Apple Watch stainless 44 mm for $424, which is almost unheard of with that kind of discount for the latest Apple Watch. I’m not claiming I don’t believe you, Do you happen to have where you can provide a copy of the sale price? Just naturally curious. Either way, if you only payed $424 for a stainless Series 4 Apple Watch, then you scored big time.

Bestbuy did a pricematch because Target had it on stock the moment I called :D
They don't pricematch out of stock items. o_O

I think target had a lot of old stock, or probably a wrong online price an isolated sale, who knows! ;)

I don't understand how anyone could buy one of these iWatches. Compared to a Casio watch, these iWatches are fluff. Who wants to plug their watch in every day, day in and day out in order to run it? You ONLY get 18 hours of use! I remember when I had to wind my watch and if I forgot, it lost time. Then I got a kinetic watch that was self winding and I never lost time again, I was so happy with it.

Well, now maybe having the iWatch stop won't be such a drag, unless you do foreign travel or go in areas without internet access. You only have to charge it 1.5 hours a day. Honestly I wouldn't consider buying a watch like this for that has anything less than a full week of battery time. Really innovations should give you something equivalent to the previous models, but add on more features. Daily charging is a nuisance. I don't need to spend hundreds of dollars for a nuisance, no matter how "flashy". I got a Fitbit Charge 3 for my husband, who is rehabilitating following a terrible assault in a public park. I compromised because of the activity monitor which he needs. The Charge 3 however at least keeps a charge for a week. It also has some notifications and is water proof enough to swim with. It also costs about 1/3 of a new iWatch.

The Apple Watch does have Watch function, timers, activities data too. It also has extra features that are often more important and eliminate the need for many other devices. My old S2 has phone accessibility, a clock, current date, weather and current heart rate on its face. It can do phone calls, receive and send text or SOS. It also uses vibration to alert turns etc when using Apple maps. Those are just the start of what it can do.

Nowadays, to expect teenagers value the time piece that could easily cost 5-10 times Apple Watch series 4 LTE (not Hermes edition or stainless steel version) is kinda impossible. I think the understanding of a timeless mechanical watch and its ever truly remarkable craftsmanship lies on whether the individual owning such a watch values social status and maybe the taste over flashy features such as activity tracker. On the other hand, when a watch can do much more than just telling the time, and its cost sometimes is on par with luxury mechanical watch, potential customers might take a pause and at least check out what Apple Watch can offer, especially if they have an iPhone.

As an Apple Watch series 3 owner for a little over a year, I would say Apple Watch changes my thought on watch. I don’t have the mind or appreciation to value a mechanical watch that does nothing but telling time, sometimes date. Apple Watch, on the other hand, attracts me because of its huge potential, especially with cellular feature, something that is not within the design scope of mechanical watch. I admit my activity motivation does not last very long after having that said watch, but overall wellbeing and the tendency to move around instead of sitting in front of computer for extended period are two major benefits I receive after owning one.

As of now, Apple Watch still cannot last a full week regardless of usage after a full charge, let alone months or even years like any other mechanical watch. But, at the same time, it does so much more than mechanical watch can do, while the price is not way too ridiculous (for aluminium model that is). I think this recharge daily thing is fine for a lot of people, especially if a full recharge only takes an hour or so. Whether Apple Watch lasts one week or not, people are buying it, appreciating it and liking to use it. I guess, sometimes people are really hoping their gadgets to do more than what it was initially designed for, and watch has no exception.

I was actually thinking this with the ‘wrong sale price, which retailers make mistakes from time to time. Best Buy made this mistake in the past with a JBL surround sound I purchased, but they will acknowledge it if it’s their mistake, but as I said, you scored big time purchasing a Series 4 stainless watch for half the price.

yeah I'd been checking that daily for a bit and at one point there was "one left" at that price but it wouldn't let me add it. I'm sure its a glitch of some sort. glad someone got to take advantage of it when it was at 50% off.

What do you guys think the base model Series 4 will cost when Series 5 comes out?

$299?

I'll say around 299 for the 44mm version, with it being discounted $50-$70 on Black Friday.
If you weren't watching Amazon prime day, then you missed out on series 4 being at $350 and series 3 as low as 169.
If you have a Costco card you may buy a new series 4 for $55 off (either model)

It depends. Apple may only retain certain models of the Series 4 (I.e Discontinue the stainless/keep the aluminum Model), the most I’d say it would be discounted would be nothing above ~$100.00.

Hi :) I am going to buy my Apple Watch in the LTE Aluminum version to perform sport and monitor activity. Is there a good time to buy the Series 4 or wait for the premiere of the new model, which is in three months?
There’s always something new coming. Buy what you need when you need it. You’ll always be waiting on Apple for new product.

Yeah at this point im waiting until September unless i find one of those half off deals. Even if 5 is not a big upgrade the price will go down on the 4s a bit
