Yep. I see that. Was just curious why today’s weather would pop up and then go away. Although it makes sense IF it’s just part of “preparing you for the day”

It seems as though news pops up at an appropriate time (middle of the day) and reminders/alarms pop up as needed. I quite like this watch face so far.

you can also use one of the complications for temperature.

Is it just me, or does now playing decide to pop up all the time? I hope this isn’t how it is going to be in final.
mine usually only pops up when i'm playing a song - when i stop it stays for a bit then goes away. sometimes however it doesn't show up after i press pause then start playing by using the phone to start the song.

I guess it makes sense, but it takes over the watch face, which I find kind of annoying. That’s what the face complication is for.

As for disappearing, mine doesn’t.

For you guys using Siri face, are commute (work/home) ETAs showing up?

Mine work in the Maps app, but not Siri watch face yet

Interesting. Not working at all for me. I use transit as default too.
i had the same issue with the Maps Destinations widget on the phone but now, with the current beta, it finally seems to be working. I don't understand why the watch would source its info from a different place than the phone widget - Apple needs to get its different teams communicating.

Yeah me too. Had the same issue with Maps Destinations widget, tried many resets of Significant Locations over the past weeks. It’s now working finally for the past week.

Agree with you — very weird Siri face is not showing this same data on Watch since it is showing on iPhone. Perhaps a connection is broken. (Data is sourced from the same place.) I would also have a hunch that Apple may be slowly rolling out this feature, as it may require optimization for battery life with frequent location requests for updated commute ETA times.

(Need commute times taking NYC subways:)

Re: Siri Face ... curious how long the machine learning actually takes ... like will it start to pop-up a workout suggestion every morning at some point if that’s what I do every day, etc

Did they remove the ability to change music source between watch and phone?

You used to be able to force touch and tap on source to change it. I want to view just music stored locally on my watch.

If you open the music app in watchOS beta 4, it will only show you what is currently on your watch. Unlike you, I'm trying to go the opposite direction and choose songs that are on my iPhone to play (Apple Music), and Apple has removed this functionality as of right now. . . I'm starting to wonder if it will ever return.

On a separate topic, I see that Messages in the Cloud works just fine on my iPad Pro and my iPhone... delete in one place and it deletes on the other device.. I wish this functionality crossed over onto the Apple Watch, but it doesn't.

Weird. It’s showing me albums that are not downloaded on my watch. In fact, those albums that are not synced to my watch show the cloud/download symbol.

Edit: nevermind I see. The coverflow shows recent albums I could download. The actually library only show things on my device. I quite like that, especially for my runs. Anything I’d play from phone, I’d probably just go find in the phone.

I agree for a run or workout it's a great thing to have. That said, I think it would be nice to be able to switch albums with my watch while on my commute. I don't always have the ability to pull my iPhone out of my pocket on the train.

My iPhone/Watch automatically syncs the "For You" and most recently played playlists. I would think yours does the same unless the settings were changed on the phone. I saw originally I had the download icon but it went away after a second or two.

Now, if "now playing" would stop popping up whenever it feels like it, and the watch faces would "raise to wake" as fast as they did in WatchOS 3, I'd be very happy with it.

You can turn that off, and I just discovered how! Go to the watch app on your phone, then General, then Wake Screen and turn Auto-launch Audio Apps off.

Thank goodness. This has been annoying me when I'm driving since I already have carplay displaying what's playing and I just need to check the date/weather/upcoming events on my watch. Sheesh.

Thanks a lot!

Also, I left feedback for Apple re: music library not being accessible from the watch and Apple sent me a request for more files. They are listening!

So, I was just about to update to the os 4 beta, but what is this about the Now Playing / Music changes? I use my watch to control music on my phone all the time. I keep my phone docked and use my watch as a remote (including switching songs/playlists). Now its only allowing you to choose from the music you have synced?

That is correct

I paired my Anker Soundbuds to my watch. This is the first time I have ever tried to pair anything on Apple Watch so my question is; should they show up under airplay in the control center even if they aren’t connected in the watch Bluetooth settings? This doesn’t seem correct to me.

If I have them paired to my phone I can quickly pair them to my watch using control center however I cannot switch them back to the phone unless I go to Bluetooth settings on the phone. They don’t show up as an available source. View attachment 711421Another interesting find is that if I have them paired to the phone and answer a call from my watch, the call fails every time.

Anyone notice that the gps is off during outdoor runs?

Mine was off 4km from my starting location and half my run was wrong. Eventually the gps was right.

I did not have my iPhone during the run.
I run every day with my watch and no phone, and have not noticed this. Seems to track exactly the same as watchOS 3 in my experience.

So I’d been wondering why the Siri watch face wasn’t giving me more notices, relative to my location and such ... well, I went under location services on my phone and had location detection turned completely OFF for Apple Watch faces ... that might just do it, because now it’s geofencing, like I’d assume it should.
