Is that true? i thought I read from someone here that some features were not available (health among them) but that basic features (time keeping, notifications) still worked? I could just be mis-remembering, though.
The watch app in iOS 9 won't let you set up a watch running OS3. HOWEVER, if you don't reset the watch before going back to iOS 9, the watch will still do all the things it can via cloud connection so long as youre near a trusted wifi network; I.e. Siri, iMessage, FaceTime audio. It will still track your fitness, but without the Phone that data has nowhere to go.

Previous release was every 10 mins and only if you were not moving

No, No.
It is correct "every 5 minutes" is true.

Already watchOS 2.2 :)

-- watchOS 2.2 (13V144) --
  • Increased heart rate frequency when stationary (down to every 5 minutes from the older 10 minutes)

Will it connect to the phone at all, or are you out of luck unless near trusted wifi?

I hate to ask as I may have overlooked the answer but is the beta ready to roll as a daily driver yet?

Beta 5 was very solid and now Beta 6 looks and feels great so far. The big problem is the IOS betas have been bad. Graphics issues and big battery drainer.

Thank god. On beta 6, swiping to delete a text message no longer takes a long solid swipe. The screen is sensitive enough you can swipe quickly again.

Has anyone been able to update their WatchOS Beta software today? I've checked a few times, but my app says it's up to date...uninstalled and reinstalled the Beta profile just to see if it worked, nada.

Been running both with no issues.
Lucky :) this new iOS update seems solid, but the previous had some flickering graphics on the home screen and I had quicker than normal battery drain. This beta 6 for the watch has been the best so far, but beta 5 was good.

Now that carrot has an iOS 10/OS3 test version, it seems to have its own features complication watch faces.

I found on beta 5 and now on 6, if you're using the activity watch face, sometimes the rings randomly disappear but their corresponding numbers remain. A reboot of the watch fixes it. Has only happened twice. Next time I'll screen shot it and submit to Apple.

Compared to Beta 5, Beta 6 has a little bit more battery drain. On the other hand, some Bluetooth connection issues have been solved.

On beta 6 and am experiencing 2 issues for the first time:

1) Activity won't load. It's tracking my activity (rings show up and are updated on both the watch face and my phone) but the app itself doesn't load. I just get 3 full small rings in the center of the watch when I try to load/open it. It's in my dock too - same issue there; 3 small full rings

2) Workout won't load. When i try, I get the runner icon with the throbber circling. But it never finishes loading.

My response was, in a way, a reminder that if you are not a developer, you really shouldn't be on the beta.
+1

It is, at best, interesting to watch the progress of the betas by watching this thread.

What I don't understand is why beta users are asking for help here on MacRumors when they'll probably get better comments and feedback at Apple's own dev forums.
