that is the calendar app still...just the day view (which apple now has as the default). force touch and choose "list view" to change it back.

You're talking about he view within the calendar app. I'm talking about when using the solar face it shows both the date and time. Previously, if you tapped on the date, the calendar app would open. This no longer works.

Glance doesn't show the last heart rate as soon as you open the glance. But it does in few seconds [while measuring the current heart rate].

Yeah it seems that this has changed in 1.0.1. In 1.0, it wouldn't matter if you touched the heart in the heart rate glance to start measuring immediately or waited a few seconds to let the watch start measuring. Wonder why they changed that. I still want to know my last measurement if I touch on the little heart.

The watch is smart enough not to light up when you are applauding. This is a really nice touch when you're in a dark theater.

With Calendar, I just wish you could see more than the current month. Often times, I just want to see what day it is on a specific date. If they allowed you to view at least 2 previous and next months, I would be satisfied. I know I can just pull my phone out or ask Siri, but this type of task, I feel, is perfect for the Watch since it would just take less than 10 seconds.

I would like to be able to control things I'm controlling with the remot app via Siri. With the remote app on the watch I can't chose a specific song, playlist or even shuffle. If the remote app is open on my watch, I would like to be able say "Hey Siri shuffle **** playlist" or "play *****." I could easily AirPlay from the watch or my phone but that isn't battery efficient. This is very specific so I don't expect it but it would be nice.

I agree. At first I thought I just didn't know how to change the month. It blows my mind you can't change the month. That's just so stupid.

I ran into an annoying quirk: people tell me that my Watch keeps lighting up when I'm having a conversation with them and it's very distracting.

I don't talk much with my hands but I guess it's enough that the Watch screen comes on for a split second and I can see how that would be annoying to somebody you're talking to.

Mine does? It opens with "X BMP, Ym ago" and then says Measuring, then shows the new heart rate in large font under an animation of a beating heart and the previous one underneath. Sometimes if I am active while the glance is still up, it will update. I just stood up and hopped around a bit to test it, and it went from 72, to 85 and then to 96.

It's back to 82 now I've sat down.

hey siri, what day of the week is july 13th?

I know its not exactly how you were asking to learn this bit of info, but it works perfectly.

Yeah, like I said in my post, I know I can ask Siri, but this is a little awkward when you're talking to someone or at work and want to be discreet.

Question about Do Not Disturb: does putting phone on DND also silence all notifications on Watch; or will they keep coming in unless you also put Watch on DND? thx

I have discovered that slapping apple watch to your cheek (butt or otherwise :p) is an effective way of silencing a call/turning off the display if your other hand is busy.

If you have mirror iPhone on it will also turn on do not disturb on the watch.

I had do not disturb on my phone with mirror, but my watch still rang at church when I got a call. I find I need to turn off sounds on watch.
I haven't checked it again since the update though.
I think I'm still getting dings for alerts but not positive about that (like stand up, or you met your goal).

I would like to know how it's supposed to work.

Take a look at your do not disturb settings. Allow calls from is what you should change to really silence calls.

The entire second half of this page is off topic...
I'm not the thread police, but I'm sure there's a separate thread for bugs and a separate thread for features desired in a future update, right?

hmm... didn't mean to bust the thread but this was neither of those. I thought of it as a 'little' thing feature. This thread helped me get it to work. So not a bug or a new feature.
It's always a dilemma, new thread or add to existing.

I thought I remembered seeing somewhere a feature that notifies you when your Apple Watch is out of bluetooth range/loses connection with your phone. Did that come in this update ?

A little red rectangle appears at the top of the watch face when you're out of range of the iPhone.
