A stock pile of products that have partially charged batteries in them? Paying for storage and protecting these items and their packaging from thieves and damage from heat and cold.

No.

---

For this brand new product category, Apple could not know if people hated it or loved it until they started buying. When have you ever known Apple to build too much of something and have to dump it? They had to err on the side of caution and now they are trying to catch up.

Once again, apple has a DISPOSABLE $780 BILLION dollars. This is my opinion. Apple is making a big ass deal of this watch, it's is suppose to be the BIG leap into the future, so they claim. So tell me, who is that in the first 8 hours they sold 1 million apple watches, yet, they were out of initial stock within 6 minutes? Once again, sold 1 million apple wat he's in 8 hours, but SOLD OUT of initial stock in only 6 minutes. So how much did they have in stock ready to sell? Let's say conservatively they sold 750k watches in 6 minutes and managed another 250k in the next 7 hours and 56 minutes (I think you and I both know, that is more than likely not the case), but let's say they did. That means apple only anticipated selling 750k apple watches HA. Not a chance. Mind you this is the absolute most conservative estimate I could possibly imagine. Now wait, there is more. Let's say that the apple watch COST apple the same amount as they sell it for. That's right, ASSUMING apple makes 0 profit (when their margins are like 200% at least) at an average cost of $600 at each watch, that means that apple invested 450 million into their "most personal device yet" that they guaranteed to be a game changer. Now for some more math, that means that apple only invested 0.000567% of their DISPOSABLE monies. Give me a break man. They want to err on the side of caution, or use marketing ploys to drive demand? They have a stock oil, don't be blind. And if you are interested in knowing, if it was a 200% profit margin, then they only invested 0.000189. Mind blown right?

I'm a grown man yet find myself checking my bank every half hour or so, following this thread watching and waiting for a joyous UK orderer. I got my confirmation 3 minutes after ordering opened. 42 sport Space Grey; Nothing yet. I can't take this for much longer. Apple have made a watch that has stopped time.

Haha...good one

I think you're probably right... They're doing this to us on purpose. It's their way of making it a success. At Apple, supply drives demand. They did this with gold 5s and they did it with all 6 pluses, they are doing it with gold MacBooks.

They have the process of gold or grey or silver aluminum down pat, there is zero reason for one to be constrained and the other to be bountiful. They want to say "you don't want it? Well you can't Have it!! Oh wait, what? now you DO want it? That's what we thought!"

I meet a girl who seems into me and she's a 6... I pass. If I find out she isnt actually that into me , she becomes an 8. I find out she's not into dudes, she becomes a 10.

That's us and first gen products. We know there will be better ones and we should pass. Then we hear there won't be many available, so it peaks our interest. Then we find out it'll be nearly impossible to get one, now it's life blood.

Thanks buddy. That really helps me more than you know. I've been a wreck.

I talked to apple for 3 hours tonight and they did two things for me:

1- a 15% off Apple Store coupon (they said it is the unicorn of Apple Store phone support, I've never seen one in the last 9 years of calling.

2- the changed my shipping method to Overnight/NextDay Air instead of "Standard"

Neither of these things have had an effect on my watch though. Can't use coupon towards any new products or accessories for 30 days. And the expedited shipping didn't change my status or push a charge to my card.

Realistically it doesn't matter, the launch or delivery date won't be affected but I think the guy felt so bad for me because I really felt despair until reading your post, that I was somehow missed or forgotten.

I don't get it. Apple didn't even miss the BEGINNING of the delivery window yet and you're already harassing the Apple staff enough for them to shut you up with these sweeteners you don't deserve? You better hope they don't keep notes like Amazon does or you may truly be locked out of future purchases.

Normally I'd say you're a nut bag, but... I think you're probably right... They're doing this to us on purpose. It's their way of making it a success. In business demand drives supply. You understand the current generation of consumers completely. thumbs up sir.

Before you jump the gun like an idiot. I talked to the guy about his family and my parents and my brothers coming out and all kinds of stuff. We talked about his kids and the way parents are calling for kids k-5 sizes on the watch. We talked about the watch in regards to me and why I'd be behind others for 10 minutes at the beginning and end. He felt bad for me because he CAN SEE IN THE NOTES THAT I HAVE DOZENS OF PRODUCTS WITH APPLECARE and that I am LOYAL. He liked taking to me and wanted to do something to help me out despite it not helping me with my current concern.

So do yourself a favor and start with the big toe when you stick the rest of your foot in your mouth.

I think your math needs brushing up. Also, realize that while the entire company is worth $700+ billion, their "disposable" is nowhere near close to that amount.

I am not the idiot in this situation. You can't see that because you're so emotionally invested. I'm here waiting patiently for my watch along with (mostly) everyone else. You're using the Apple Support department like a girlfriend.

I don't want to fight with you and, in fact, I won't.

edit: after reviewing your past posts, I just went ahead and added you to my ignore list so I don't get involved with you any more. Good luck with whatever it is you're trying to accomplish.

According to this there should be some landing in a few hours. Fingers crossed there are some 42mm SS links on there.

Even though it has a time of arrival I continue to watch the slow progress of the flights moving. lol

And fingers crossed for 42mm Sport Space Grey.

Truly Apple's 'Most Personal' Device...

...because a lot of people seem to be taking this **** personally :)

They blame the lady who's job it is to sell things at RETAIL for not having product...like this is her job, actually...making...product.

They completely ignore all logic, any knowledge of physics, clearly have no CONCEPT of the law of Large Numbers or the myriad ways *any thing* could effect such a vast supply chain...and why?

Because they "can't" have some thing that cost more than a great many people in the world make in a MONTH on April 24th...because a whole hell of a lot of OTHER people wanted the thing too.

These minute-by-minute order breakdowns are the most amusing: a minute can contain 10's of 10000's of orders *or more* at this scale. If you were the last person at the last microsecond of a minute, this would LITERALLY PUT ~ 999,999 people *in front of you*...or if we bump it up to millisecs, you would have 999 people in front of you in THAT SAME MINUTE...and I am pretty willing to bet the volume was far, far higher than 1000/tps, so it is conceivable with say, one-thousand-thousand to two-thousand-thousand devices to sell and ship while still running assembly they could have run out damned-near instantly.

It's just math. I know nowadays STEM is frowned upon by the 'unwashed masses' and 'aw shucks' "Common Sense" rules the day, but there are limits.

it's fine, I suppose to be "mad"...but let's put a *little* science in this and try to be *reasonable*.

I cannot imagine ANYONE receiving an Apple Watch not being able to tell the time until it shows up...from all of the counting, they clearly have a way to do this presently. Hell, I've been charge damned near a grand for watch + crap and haven't got diddly squat for tracking yet.

For some reason you don't understand how this works. Apples builds almost nothing. The sub it all out. From leaked reports they didn't have it in production until March. Their suppliers are having yield issues. This means they can't make enough parts to make the watches. Apples profits are usually around 30%. The SS model they'll make more and the Gold even more.

They've been up front that there is a supply issue.

Anyone have a link to the site your watching the flights from and how to tell which ones are apple watch flights?

End of day - Tuesday.

Still no billing charge

Still no change in order status for 42mm SS Black Sport band.

We'll try again tomorrow & I really hope we see some updates for those of us who ordered a 42mm SS Black Sport band. At least there are a lot of planes coming into Anchorage now & soon.

U don't know what or why I called buddy. I had 2 watches on an Order and 1 charged and other didn't. What occurred after that has nothing to do with "using" any1. It's just 2 like-minded people chatting. You probably can't relate.

PS this will be news to you, pal, but you can't "Fight" on the Internet. It's text and anonymous. Any exchange in which the potential for getting knocked out or arrested is non existent is not a fight, it's texting with hurt feelings.

You'll learn one day. I learned it at 8yrs old and I'm a much better person having been knocked out a couple times. I can tell by your stinky attitude that you've never been in a fight. It humbles you and makes you a decent guy. Try it. I'm certain you won't be hard pressed to find someone to oblige you. Best of luck with your watch though! Cheers Flumpy!

I see all types of different Watch combinations, but I don't hear of anyone getting credit card charges or shipping on the 42mm Space Black Case with Space Black Stainless Steel Link Bracelet, which is what I ordered. I got my order confirmation at 3:05AM EDT I ordered thru the app and it did not go live until about 3:03AM EDT.

Still no charge on credit card and ordered with Apple Pay.

Anyone with the same order get anything updated?

I don't have the exact same order, but I ordered the 42mm lighter grey stainless steel with light grey link bracelet and also payed with Apple Pay. I got my confirmation email at 12:02 EST. I still have no changes to my order status or charges to my bank account. I don't think any of the watches with the link bracelet have started shipping yet (someone correct me if I'm wrong, maybe it's just the 42mm link bracelet)!

Since you read his past posts, you should have seen that he at some point implied that he had some sort of Apple connection that wasn't a normal support person that explained how all this worked. Such a good "connection" that this person was able to get him everything Apple released on launch day. He wasn't worried at that point. After that, even though his super-reliable connection had already given him the info he needed, he proceeded to contact Apple support multiple times asking about the watch and delivery of the watch. That made it obvious to me not to listen to anything he says. Adding him to your ignore list is the best thing you could have done. I'll follow you in that regard.
