Also people are acting like big watches are not already a thing. There are a lot of big watches and people wear them without an issue.
Agree. Have you seen Diesel watches? They are humongous and very popular model amoung Men’s in the U.S.

Having to introduce a bigger Apple Watch. Apple is taking this to another level. I bet you, this will be a “One more thing” moment on Sept 7 event. 🫠

I agree with you. Valid points!

People said the exact same thing about Pro Max or Max models. “the phones are too big”, “it won’t fit the Jean pockets”, “it’s a big phone holding down to the ear” and so on… years later it is the most popular model.

Rest assured, This 47mm Apple Watch will sell out quickly and will be back ordered instantly.
I don't doubt they will sell out and will be popular among those who can wear them. Which is still plenty of people, don't get me wrong. Plenty of people can wear a 47mm watch.

I am simply pointing out that, by not making a smaller size, they're ignoring a large part of the market. Which must be due to the inability to fit the components they need into a smaller watch, because I'm sure if they could do it, they would.

Or I guess it's possible they're seeing it as a similar situation to the iPhone mini, where a vocal minority wanted one, but actual sales are dismal. The only article I could find about size was this one... and it says the larger watch was outselling the smaller one 80:20, but that was back when the sizes were 38mm and 42mm, they're now 41mm and 45mm.

Not a surprise. A lot of people like bigger watches. This is going to sell well I think.
It's not a surprise that they are making a 47mm watch I just find it a little surprising that they're making an exclusively 47mm watch, it's surprising since surely a decent chunk of people still wear the 41mm... But maybe not very many. I'm not sure. I'd imagine most women chose 41mm?

sounds absolutely terrible. 47mm? already for a large chunk of people the 45mm is too large. guess the days of being able to purchase a reasonably sized titanium apple watch will be over. 47mm is hilariously large even by modern watch standards
yeah.. 40mm is the perf AW size.
I tried out the series 7 41mm and even that felt bigger so i took it back

This is going to go nowhere unless it has physical buttons and unless they rework their GPS interpolation. For sports, Garmins are vastly better on every metric except style and gizmos.

I find it funny how we have heard constantly on here and other forums that the watch hasn't changed in years despite increasing in size. And when one of us points out the size changes, we're told "1 or 2 mm, that doesn't count". And now at the same time, the extra 2mm are being exaggerated as a huge increase. Which one is it?

Will the Pro watch face use Ion-x, poor quality Apple “sapphire”, or Sapphire?

Just for fun, I’ll predict the responses:

1. If they use Ion-x it’s because “99% of users don’t need sapphire anyway”
2. If they use typical low quality Apple sapphire, any reviewer who calls it out is automatically branded a “click bait reviewer”

Let’s hope that it’s actually sapphire. Good quality sapphire is not that expensive (see video above)
