I actually think this is risky territory for Apple. Introducing a pro line for the watch and going down the iPhone pro route of reserving any new features for the pro line alone (while outright neglecting the standard model) will kill off this product if it is sold at $1000+

Yeah, just look at how that backfired when they introduced the iPad Pro and iPhone Pro.

How many people imagined a 6.7” iPhone would be more popular than the 3.5” original size? The size increase made it more useable. A larger Watch screen would make it more useable. I’m all for it — sign me up! I hope they push it further out than 47mm.
It’s not that simple - if it was, why would you buy an iPhone as opposed to an iPad mini cellular to be your daily driver?
There is a balance to be found, and that is individual. I’m a guy, but I still bought the smaller Apple Watch 7, because my wrists are fairly narrow. People are different. Usage too differs between individuals. A bigger watch would for me make it even more ungainly, protrude more, and make it more likely to get damaged. And I don’t do anything with it that would benefit from it being larger - more reliable tapping detection however…. or simply not having to be restarted in order to remember what it’s supposed to be doing when swiped on the default screen.

Why though? The Apple Watch battery life on series 6 without always on display (AOD) turned on is about 48 hours from 100% to 0%.

That’s easily all day and night battery life with a charge every day or two.
Totally depends on usage.

I’ve had every watch except the 5, and even disabling background refresh and AOD and setting brightness to low, I definitely cannot get more than 24 hr ever.

I have only ever had the GPS model and I track my exercise with an average of 15 minutes daily.

I have to speed charge my watch at bed time with the new Apple fast charger and sometimes fall asleep before it’s topped off and ready to track my sleep.

Point being, the battery life is not adequate at all for me since the series 6 and I’m not a “power user” by any stretch.

I was hoping to see last year’s update be more in line with the iPhone 13 design elements; flat sides, flat face.

Perhaps this year they’ll deliver.

I always suspected the COVID insanity was the reason for continuing the rounded off design last year.

I solve the battery problem by having 2. I always have the latest model and keep the previous years to sleep in.

Perfectly accurate, actually. Especially when you factor in turning off wifi/cellular when unnecessary (which for me is pretty much always), using only the good-old, reliable bluetooth connection from watch to phone.
The cellular is a good point. I only have wifi version. Does cellular use battery even if the Watch is tethered to phone and using its cell connection?

I really hope that there’s something exciting for people who can’t pull of a huge watch. I’ve worn a watch my whole life and was in to higher end watches before the Apple Watch.

Personally, I’ve always been opposed to the huge Watch trend. In my opinion, most people can’t pull it off without it looking bad. I doubt I’ll be interested in it. I’m sure plenty will be though. There are already a lot of people wearing the 45mm that really should be wearing the 41mm.

I also hope titanium isn’t only available to the largest Apple Watch model.

The times it doesn’t last 24 hours, is it tethered to iPhone, or just you wearing watch without phone around?

Also, are we talking it goes from 100% to 0% in less than 24 hours?
