Who knows?

There's a lot of conflicting information coming out which makes it seem like this is going to be Apple's most complicated product launch so far.

I wish Apple would hurry and clear up this mess.
This will make a plausible excuse when sales are not so stellar.

2 is probably the right number to allow... but Apple is also watching these boards and seeing many people say they're going to buy 2 watches with 2 different sizes, and just return the one they don't like.

Apple loses money when this happens. Apple doesn't want to lose money. They'll still sell out.

It's not just about losing money-- it's about being fair to customers. I don't want to miss out on getting a watch on launch day because a a few hundred people in my area wanted to buy two devices just to return one.

Just read a review of the Sony Smartwatch 3: 2-3 days per charge, waterproof (IP68), screen always on (LCD, with backlight coming on when raised), integrated GPS and WiFi. This is what I was looking for from Apple, and why I wont be in any lines or online until some future iteration.

Sounds like you wanted Apple to make a fitness band/watch.

Makes sense, although it should be easy enough to think: "well, I'm a 6'-4" man with big hands, I'll buy the 42mm Apple Watch..." A 5'-4" woman would probably want the 38mm. At least that's how I look at it.

That is indeed quite annoying if in-store pick-up is unavailable for us UK customers!
Furthermore, I notice that you're in the midlands. The Solihull store is usually a good place to buy apple stuff on release days, far less busier than the central bham store, especially on school nights. Might make a trip down from Manc.

Just been speaking to someone online and it will be the same process as for the iPhone 6. Click and reserve for pick up in store.

Exactly! And it has already been 'officially' answered. On the 10th for US, and on the 25th for the rest of the world. Source: Apple ireserve source code.

Yep. Simple. As I said, the only thing we don't know is when reservations will start. This Friday or when Apple Watch is released. Hopefully it's this Friday as I want to reserve mine and pick it up.

Now this pisses me off! I was going to buy two stainless steel models and surprise my fiancée with one as a wedding gift. Now I'll need to wake her up at 12:am and have her purchase it (with the money I give her of course) This is so stupid.

It does suck for you but I suspect they are doing this to curb the scalpers from ruining the launch for everyone else. Why don't you still buy her one at the store and order one for yourself online?

Must don't have a family member or friend that you can trust. I don't have many myself but if you have less than me I will be your friend.

I never understood why any retailer LIMITs what you can buy. It defeats all logic.

It doesn't though because it stops scalpers buying up the product and selling for more which is not good business for Apple.

You expect to sell it anyway and want to defeat the scalper market, that's all.

Well... let's see if Apple does this with other devices in the future. It is possible that this is nothing but a psychological ploy to manage expectations... along the lines that if you tell someone they can't have something then they end up wanting it more.

Is it a mess for people that don't follow rumor sites?

It currently just says "Pre-order 10 April after 8:01 a.m" on the UK site so if a customer attempts to order 2 watches for in-store collection on Friday morning it could end up in a bit of a mess if the rumours are to be believed. ;)

Yes, it's not like a cattle market in the Touchwood Store. :)

Yeah.... I do. Lol # looks like I'll just end up giving the money to a friend and have him order for me. We can still be friends though #

And who will she send her pulse to? Who's she going to draw smiley faces with? Lol. I know it's silly, but a major part of it is interacting with someone els who has a apple watch.

You'll have to give us a report on how you guys like interacting via the watch. Sounds like a great wedding present.

This kind of defeats the purpose of going to try out different variations....

No, just the opposite. It reinforces the need to try on in store. Harder now for one to just order two to try at home and return one making an inventory mess for Apple.

But harder to order one for self and one as gift now. Harder, not impossible.

Apple are playing standard artificial scarcity psych games to drive up demand. Baaaahhh sheeple!

Not to worry.
I yield my 'appointment' until Apple releases Watch 5 for no more than $99 loaded.

That's what I wrote. If you are in the us this friday, if not one day after launchday.

I think one should be sufficient for most customers. You can always buy more later.

I'm looking at the stainless steel 42 mm in space grey with stainless steel space grey link bracelet

You better look again. Hint. Space grey vs space black. Different I believe.

I see why they did it,I guess I was hoping they wouldn't.
To answer your question,I won't be home from work to accept the delivery. it looks like I'll end up giving the money to a friend to order/pick it up for me.
