Make a reservation... Apple couldn't even give me one!

Apple stop make things we don't want and start fixing the OSes!!!

I think he means that they work during the day and want to pickup.

Once FedEx gives you the tracking number, you can call them and ask them to hold the package. They are usually open into the early evening, swing by and pick it up after work.

Or reserve one for each of them in their respective names, and go to the store after work to pick them up.

And tag all future posts about the difficulty of obtaining this watch on launch day as #firstworldproblems

That last sentence was funny. You are right, fedex will even let you reroute to another location and should be same day if you go to the website right when you have the tracking info.

Apple this is so stupid. You are making it difficult for me to hand over close to 2k for a watch for my wife and I. I still will mind you, but you're making it difficult.
And that's one of the reasons why they feel that they can do that. If at the end of the day you're still spending money and plan to continue to, there's no need for them to do anything than what they please.

Let me help you:

1) On the 10th, pick up your iPad and open the Apple Store icon.
2) Order a watch for you and your wife.
3) On the 24th the UPS guy will bring them to your door.

You then have however many weeks Apple allows to exchange them if you don't like it in person.

How is this complicated or difficult?

I am supposed to work that day and deliveries typically arrive about 10am. I had intended on ordering 2 and picking them up after work. Just don't think they should inconvenience Joe Customer in order to try and stop scalpers.

No, but you should probably tell us your point instead of repeating his comment ad nauseam.

A lot of people don't feel they need a smartwatch because they already have a smartphone in their pocket.

What would you say to convince them otherwise?

"Whoosh!"

(That's the sound of his post going right over your head.)

How about you have them delivered to your work. That's what I am doing.

Apologies is this has changed but I thought they said you can still pickup in store?

I think Apple enjoys all the publicity and Samsung is pulling their hair out saying "why isn't anyone talking about our product"

:)

On the contrary, plenty of talking going on about the Galaxy S6 over on other Android forums. It's quite the hot topic over the last month or so. They're doing just fine, I wouldn't worry.

Yea I don't get that part either. I don't know how much is costs to make. Wouldn't they give a bigger discount to the gold then for employees?

My company gives employees nice discounts on our products below cost. Lots of free stuff as well.

I'm guessing that they don't really want employees snapping up the Edition.

I was talking about the press releases today. Samsung is releasing their new phone Friday and nobody other than Samsung fans care. It's all over the news and press. Apple just seems to dominate the news however they can. I'm definitely not worried. It's funny.

Ahhhh. I've never been asked when I received my new phones.

You know what would be fun is even though we have no intention of ever getting a Samsung, is to go sign up over at their forum and then bash everyone for buying it. Oh wait, that would just make us trolls.

Samsung fans and all the tech sites covering the S6, you mean. It's getting a fair bit of ink, all things considered. There's reviews, unboxing videos, early impressions. Standard product release fare.

Well yeah, Apple products do tend to dominate the news near release time. This is not a new phenomenon. I am kind of curious why you decided to steer the conversation in Samsung's direction though.

:) Exactly.

I can't do that... it's too bush league to go to another website and mock someone who likes a product. I will stay away. You can usually tell of a troll here if they start defending Samsung and bashing you.

How many retail employees do you know that could drop $500+ whenever they wanted to?

Which is why Apple will sell them the stainless steel for as low as $275. However, if they could get the Edition for $5,000 you know for sure someone would buy one to sell later.

Does it bother you? If so, my apologies about this topic of Apple Press releases including reservations may hurt samsung.
