I hear you. I used to feel that way until I got my 6+ in gold (yikes) with white bezels. I kind of like the high contrast of the white with the black screen as it turns out so got the same for my iPad. To each their own.
Wait, what...there was an AW1 in black ceramic?I missed that!
Go back and read where I corrected myself it was black stainless with ceramic back. No way I would own a white watch.
I have to say I'm pretty pissed off; as a resident of the east coast, i set an alarm for 3am (per usual for these pre-orders); The app went live for me at 0311; I added my watch to my bin and went to select store pick up on the 16th. I had a moment of panic that I would not be able to go to the store that day and navigated away from the app for a mere 10seconds to check my calendar. When I went back, the app was back to the "we'll be back" page. i waited another five minutes of refreshing and luckily, my cart still had the watch in it, with delivery on the 16th (turns out my local store isn't offering pick-up). input my CC info and voila, order confirmed. Wasn't until I woke up this morning that I saw my confirmation email with a delivery estimate of Sept. 26-28
At this point, I'm working overnight on the 15th, and the apple store is on my way home. I think I'll take my chances and stop by the mall and see how long the line is to see if I can score one on launch day and return the pre-ordered one when it arrives (or cancel it if it hasn't shipped by the 16th).

It looks very nice but just not for me. Do not let my wife know as she would love it and in fact it is a possible future present.
Can't remember if I already posted here! I was a little groggy last night. Got in around 3:05, ordered 38mm SS with white sport band. Happy about the band - I lost my white one a few months ago and I've missed it. Delivery set for 9/16. I will be out of town so having them deliver at work so someone can sign for it.
Upgrading my Gen1 for a new Stainless Steel Gen2. Order placed in Germany at noon, and it will arrive at october 4th. hopefully not early, as I'm on vacation until the 2nd I waited on purpose for a while after preorders started so that the delivery date would slip after the vacation.
SO excited for the new processor. The current watch is just so damn slow... Yes watch os2 will make it better, but still..

Now I'm having second thoughts and wondering whether I should go with the Nike Watch instead....I guess I can always return mine and get the Nike in October if I want.
Preordered the 42mm Rose Gold With blue band at 3:31am, got my confirmation email at 3:34am with a delivery date of Sept. 16th.

I ordered mine at 8:05am no problem. Just tried now and got as far as I can without paying for 42mm SS White Sports band.

I was able to get the app to come up before the website, but could not complete the check out (ApplePay) process. I was forced to use the website. Further delays because I tried to combine the iPhone 7 Plus 256GB Silver with the Apple Watch. There was some bug that would not let me get pass address due to the AT&T upgrade. My confirmation ended up coming through at 12:39 AM Pacific.

First time in years that I will not have a single Apple product on release day. I really struck out given I had 4 chances with 2 phones and two watches.
Not delivery, reserved for pickup in store. It seems only select models are available for pickup, the first series for example.
Just a heads up,if you don't get your watch on delivery and call bestbuy you can usually get a gift card as an apology for the mix up.
I ordered at 3:05am Eastern for the Apple Watch Series 2 Aluminum and my order status page went from Processing to Preparing for shipment about an hour ago. Checked UPS tracking using phone# and still nothing up yet but I have seen others on this page who already can track from China. Things appear to be in motion today folks!
Same here. My Apple Watch Series 2, 42mm Gold Aluminum Case with Toasted Coffee/Caramel Woven Nylon Band--that's a mouthfull!--is now preparing for shipment. I already have a bunch of nice after-market sports bands, so I went with a nylon band this time. I'm going to pass my 1st Gen black aluminum to my son.
My Watch Series 2, Gold Aluminum with cocoa band has just moved to "Preparing for Shipment" with the delivery date for 9/16. My card was also charged today

Any luck finding your shipment on UPS?
For those who have found your shipment using your phone number registered with your order or your Apple Order Number less the last two digits, how long did it take from when you saw Preparing for Shipment to seeing the tracking?
If you cannot tell, this is my first AW so I am very excited! It took every fiber of my being to skip the first AW and wait for Series 2 but I'm glad I did.

Does anybody know if when you preorder you can chose a specific watch band? For example, I want the light aluminum case with a black sport band, but right now it only gives the option of a white band.

You can only buy the combinations Apple chooses, I don't think that's an option they allow. You would have to buy the black band separately.
