Ugh lame T Mobile rep had me on hold for a while. Space Black with grey band pre order shows being processed 10/9-10/22
You don't need to give up your family plan. Why would you possibly think you needed to do that?
Also, you don't even need to turn on the cellular service. You can have an LTE watch that has no LTE service. It'll work as any other Apple Watch always has by tethering to your iPhone.
Rookie mistake set me alarm for PM instead of AM. I think the ghost of Steve Jobs woke me up at 4am CST and placed an order. S3 Nike with GPS + Cellular Platinum/Gray band slipped to Oct 13-22nd.
*side note I sold my Nike S2 for $275 then won another $250 playing blackjack. I am “renting” an S1 from Best Buy for 14 days till my new one shows up.

Interesting, my order was placed on 12:07 Am, and the delivery slipped that fast to Oct...weird..
I used Apple Pay to preorder my S3 Hermes via the Apple Store app.
Can I update to iOS 11 on Wednesday when it is released? Or will this muck up the credit card payment as the final purchase will need the Apple Pay device number when I preordered?

You can update. It doesn’t change your account # in the device. Unless you delete the card and re add it.
No, but there is also no requirement to activate the cellular functionality. That said, the rumor is that AT&T stores may be able to sell the $10 standalone plan to those of us on grandfathered plans. I'll see if that works next week.
I'm not. I don't know if I need the cellular stuff yet but I know I want stainless and sapphire. Nothing wrong with that.
Sure. It was just the configuration you were referencing (steel, no LTE) doesn't exist. Other people hadn't spotted that before.

tbh, its one of the few times, I'm not swept up emotionally on the buying, but it seems a little more cold and calculating as such I'm still not sure it was the right decision. I like to have a healthy mixture of sound reasons to buy and a good feeling in the gut about the purchase. If it doesn't feel right to buy, then I generally don't.
The great thing about getting the nike version, is we'll get reports of how good the battery is or is not, well before I get mine delivered and so I can use that opportunity to reevaluate the purchase

Do you guys think the delivery date is influenced by the band a lot or not? My one says 4-5 weeks with the new sports band but only 3-4 with the old one, find that quite strange from a supply chain POV, what do you think? And indeed, it sucks to be in Europe.
