I preordered an aluminum S3 LTE but I'm kind of dismayed that if my phone isn't nearby I can't use wifi? What gives?

That is not how I understand it. As far as I know the watch will work just like the non LTE ones. If it is on WiFi it will use WiFi. It will only use LTE if it doesn't have access to WiFi.

Also I believe if you don't have access to WiFi, but your phone is nearby it will use your phones LTE connection instead of relying on the watches LTE connection. It only uses the watches LTE connection if it can't see WiFi or your phone.

Someone please correct me if that is wrong

I ended up pre-ordering the Series 3 Stainless Steel Milanese Loop Space Black. Anyone here ever had that band before? Just curious as to if it's a real sturdy band. Thanks!

I hope so. I was hoping to leave my phone at home and just wear my watch to work and get on the work wo-fo to try it out. I'll keep the forum posted with what I find out.

I have had it as my daily band for over a year now. I find it to a very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Granted I am not taking this band out for a run but for day to day activity it has held up very well. By the way, the black stainless steel is a great looking watch. Enjoy.

Anyone have any idea when B&H will ship out? Is it worth me preordering there since I missed the 9/22 ship date because Apple's site is ****?

I am still very salty and annoyed that I stayed up all night so I could get this thing for my birthday and failed miserably because a 800 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY CAN'T MANAGE A WEBSITE.

Awesome, thanks!

It is common knowledge around these forums to use the Apple Store app when pre-ordering. I recall seeing that mentioned in several of the most recent MacRumors front page articles. Apple cannot control the speed at which their website is provisioned. As someone who has had this same problem in the past I can appreciate your frustration, but at least now you know to use the Apple Store app for next time!

Yes it is! I have the SB link bracelet and the Milanese, 2 1/2 years later and they are still looking like new thanks to that coating!

Ordered a 42mm Space Black with sport band and apple care. Should get it Friday. Having second thoughts about it the Space Black and the normal SS
Replacing my S0 space gray sport.

New to the watch skwad. I'm super excited though! I used the Apple app 3:03 AM and got my stuff right away.

38mm SS Black Sport Band LTE, 9/22 delivery. :)

Ordered the LTE Space Gray with the Dark Olive Sport Loop.

Says will ship Oct 5-10. When I ordered, I could have had the Space Gray with a normal sport band right away on Sept. 22, but I have a whole bunch of sport bands already and didn't really want yet another dark colored sport band (already have two black ones - with each silver and black pin - and a midnight blue, along with some lighter ones), so I opted to wait another two weeks for a different band that I didn't already have.

I already have a stainless original with link bracelet and a gold aluminum original, plus too many bands for each, so had to go with the cheaper model this time to make the wife happy.

Am I right that unlike the phone, for ordering purposes the Watch is not carrier specific?

I ordered the White Ceramic Edition 42mm.. I was on the site a few seconds after it came back up, and could have ordered the grey ceramic and/or the stainless steel for sep 22 delivery.. Kinda surprised that the white ceramic didn't sell out faster. Maybe they just had more of them to sell?

Has anyone's order for the 42MM Stainless LTE with White Sport Band moved to preparing for shipment? I placed mine right after preorders opened, amount is pending with my bank, but it's still 'In Progress'. I'm not worried, just curious mostly. It seems most other models have begun moving to 'Preparing'.

for the first time ever when wanting an apple device...I didn't get up at a silly hour and pre-order. I figured I'll wait a while..I do want one....or maybe even need one, but I can be patient....I am struggling to find a reason not to buy the LTE version. I still have my version 1, really want the GPS and so very nearly bought a 2, but figured I'd wait for 3...and now maybe I'll just wait a little longer.

For all the fellow Verizon customers, I just got off the phone with them. According to the rep I spoke to, the promotion is good on any Series 3 LTE Watch activated by September 30th. Kind of a short window, considering the first ones don't ship until the 22nd. If you have a 2-3 week or longer wait time, you're probably SOL.

Then again, most reps have no idea what they're talking about, but this one had to ask her superior so I'm assuming the information is correct.

EDIT: Also, it seems the LTE function, at least on Verizon, requires an iPhone 6 or newer due to the need for VoLTE. Sorry 5s users.

Same thing here. I ordered and had a confirmation email by 3:03am EST
