Dang...I’m torn up that I just spent $429 + taxes on a watch that will be slow as molasses in two years.

I don’t know how so many people get the SS version in $700+ territory?!?

Goodnight everyone!

Well that sucked, ordered the moment store came on line, 03:07a EDT, my 44mm Stainless GPS+Cellular ain't coming until Oct5th at earliest, possibly Oct 12th. Sheesh.

Was able to snag mine for in store pick up on the 21st. Decided on the sliver aluminum 44mm with the white sport band (I currently have a stainless steel band that hopefully works with the series 4). My series 2 screen died from water entering via the speaker port, using it with voiceover has been fun... Just in time I suppose. Anyway, glad it went smoothly. Good luck to the rest of you :)

I’m hoping maybe that’s just a broad window that they provided, perhaps my watch could ship earlier before September 28. I hope it does, but I don’t mind waiting anyways. but for those receiving thier Watches on the 21st, #jealous.
Although mine is supposed to ship on 21st I've had the date slip back before so I'm not holding my breath...

After refreshing for a few minutes I got the Apple Store to come up on my iPhone and I quickly processed my XS iUP and then grabbed my wife's first Apple Watch (40mm AL) and mine (44mm SS) and a couple bands and checked out at 12:10 PDT and by then my Watch had already slipped to Oct. 5-12 shipping date. Crap. Guess I should have done the Watch first! It wouldn't be so bad if my Series 0 weren't already barely limping along. The battery on it died at 6pm yesterday. I am so over it.

Most of us planned in advance and changed our store location to avoid this problem. At least now you’ll know for future!
I suppose. It still would've been better if the site had actually been up and running closer to 3:01, rather than 3:15

1. My Apple Watch original ain't slow, it's been 3yrs.
2. SS versions use Sapphire glass so idiots like me won't scratch the wash face unless it hits a diamond. :)

why are the shipping dates so far out on Apple.com for a stainless with a sport band? All three colors are delivery in October when the metal bands are delivery sept 21.

It looks like the aluminum models are almost ready to ship right away, and it seems the stainless models in most cases are already delayed to 28th September to ship at the earliest.

I accidentally ordered two watches on launch day of the original Apple Watch. Like you, I was freaking out that I had TWO expensive purchases coming. Then, after a couple of days, I realized the Apple Watches were selling for hundreds over the purchase price on eBay. I listed my second one on Craigslist and made $200 on it.

I suggest waiting and letting it ship to you, you'll at least be able to sell it for what you paid for it and you'll probably make a little cash off of it.

I’d really like not going to the hastle, there is now way to edit the order or ask apple to help me out? I might have to cancel:(

That’s not what I’m showing. I’m showing that _all_ the stainless models are shipping either September 28 at the earliest or October 5. I pre-ordered within the second store went live and I was already predicted September 28 ship date.

Stainless Steel 44mm w/ white sports band arriving 9/21. Now to figure out how/where to sell my Series 2 SS...

That was more painful than expected. I hadn't decided on the 40mm vs the 44mm at order time. I finally went with the 40mm because my current 42mm is already a bit larger than I prefer. But Apple Pay didn't work after several tries, so I finally had to enter my CC information manually. The watch is supposed to be available for pickup at the Apple Store on the 21st. It looks like the 44mm is in higher demand, or there are fewer available.

Ordered the space gray aluminum 44mm with black sport loop and also the 44mm gold with pink sport band for the wife from B&H Photo. Saved 60+ bucks in tax. Smooth checkout too.

I have the SS Series 2. The edges of the glass get scratched, so the black paint is lost to reveal silver underneath.

The idea that you can't scratch the SS ones is a myth. Good luck with yours!

Don't forget the resale value ;)

You lose money of course, but you recoup some of it. After I sell my Series 2 SS, by Series 4 will only cost me around $450.

Well - I think I ordered one from AT&T: 44mm Stainless Steel, White Sport Band (I already have tons of bands).

I don't yet have an email about it - and trying to check on that order # doesn't work... so I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that tomorrow something shows that I've ordered it!

I’d cancel now and take a worse shipping time but it doesn’t allow me to cancel it now.

You can’t cancel if it’s in the ‘Order’ stage. You Should be able to cancel in the ‘Processing’ before it goes in preparing for shipment, if it goes in ‘Preparing for shipment’ stage, then you can’t cancel your order.

iPhone 5s was the first iPhone to go 64-bit. Today, 5 years later, it's still being supported and improved with software updates. The Series 4 is the first 64-bit Apple Watch. It will be supported for at minimum 3 years, more likely 5 years as well.

Also, resale value. It's not like once they get slow or something newer comes out we just throw them in the trash...
