I would have replaced my phone if the update was worth it. There's nothing in the XS that makes me want to replace a X.
I agree. I was more about the watch this year than the phone. The only nice thing was the XS and XS Max look pretty feature complete minus the larger screen. No having to opt for the huge one for a better camera etc.
I really like my X (its the best phone they have made) and this is the first time in like 11 years that I will not upgrading to the new model. Those prices are crazy let along the insanity that Verizon charges. Gonna wait and see what next year brings. Plus iOS 12 runs great on X.

I've ordered - Nike+ AW4 GPS, 44mm Space Grey Aluminium. expecting on 8-15 oct
Pretty sure it was that way last year for series 3 stainless steel models were all Cellular / GPS

October 1-8 delivery through AT&T for a 44mm SS-WB.

Pretty good considering I got stuck in the process on Safari and had to switch to Chrome and start over!

I hear ya! I love the stainless steel. I tend to fine a way to break the sport ones. Love the durability of the higher model.
If the cell service add on was 3 bucks it would be fine. It's like $10 -15 just insane what they get for that.

Alongside the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the Apple Watch Series 4 is now available for pre-order from Apple's online storefront and through the Apple Store app.

Apple Watch Series 4 marks the first ever design change for the Apple Watch since its debut, with the new models offering displays that are up to 30 percent larger along with a smaller, thinner case. The new models are available in 40 and 44mm size options, up from 38 and 42mm.

Several new watch faces have been designed for the Apple Watch Series 4 to take advantage of the additional screen real estate, and all models now use black ceramic and sapphire crystal backing for better cellular service.

Haptic feedback has been built into the Digital Crown, which is also equipped with electrodes to enable a new feature that lets the watch take an electrocardiogram (ECG) reading. Inside, the Apple Watch Series 4 is equipped with a faster, more efficient S4 chip and a next-generation accelerometer and gyroscope enable fall detection. Despite the new features, Series 4 models continue to offer "all-day" 18-hour battery life.

Pre-orders for the cellular Apple Watch Series 4 models are available in Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UAE, UK and US.

Non-cellular Apple Watch Series 4 models are available for pre-order in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UAE, UK, US and US Virgin Islands.

Major U.S. carriers - Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile - are accepting pre-orders for the LTE Apple Watch Series 4 models, as are other carriers around the world. Major online retailers including Best Buy and Target are also accepting pre-orders starting today.

Supplies of the Apple Watch Series 4 could potentially be limited and the device may be in high demand given that it's a major upgrade over the Series 3, so customers interested in launch-day delivery should order as soon as possible.

As much as I love my SS AW series 2 I'm going to pass, will wait until these are cheaper on swappa as the values on the AW plummet pretty quickly. I don't really use my AW a lot, really only to work out, sleep and maybe on casual days. Otherwise I stopped wearing it to work/going out, having gone back to my old mechanical watch which has sentimental value and looks more fashionable. I do think the smaller bezels and the ECG function are awesome, I just don't think it's worth spending on over my AW2 at the current prices, especially with the crappy battery life and it still lacks an always on option.

Even the aluminium watch... It took forever for the site to be up (and I couldn't use the app), did not waste time and ordered as soon as it was made available. Ships in 2-3 weeks for a delivery between Oct 2nd and 10th... Here's hoping they're being conservative and I can get the watch AT LEAST before the end of the month

At long last replacing my release day Series 0 aluminium with some stainless. Wasn't completely blown away by this update but I'd rather not wait another year with the old gal. Oct 1-8 delivery.

Work hard, play harder.
I do work harder...it’s not about the money, just that my Series 2 is pretty unbearable at this point. Opening Apps takes about 5 seconds.

If these things stayed snappy for 5 years I’d get SS in a heartbeat.

Hopefully the Series 4 stays snappy for a while though haha

Cellular, ECG, 30% bigger display, thinner, more isn't "completely blown away"? What do you need, a 4K camera & projector? I'm thrilled to replace my AW0 with this. :)

Anyone order from b&h? I ordered my 44mm space Gray GPS, and I received my email 3 mins in at 3:03am. When I logged in, it says it’s backordered. Anyone else getting the same message?

The display is great but I'm not too bothered about it being thinner - would prefer more battery life. Cellular came last year and I'm not in the US so there's no guarantee that I'll be getting ECG any time soon, so I'm partially discounting that.

But yes perhaps I overstated a tad, I'm definitely excited to catch up on all the features I've been missing out on - but I think I'm looking at it with the mindset of the phones, in that chassis updates tend to be followed by more interesting feature updates a year later (the 5S got TouchID, the 6S got 3D touch etc) so I'm subconsciously minimising this year's update (which is a chassis one) cos I'm envisioning something more spectacular next year. Could be wrong of course.

Ordered my watch from B&H, tax free!

Thanks I did that as well after seeing this post. Saved $25 or so. Plus with the order times slipping to 2-3 or 3-4 weeks from Apple I will probably get my watch faster from B&H anyways. Win win

Verizon’s stainless steel models are available by calling telesales only - apparently they can’t get them to load on the website

I just ordered one - Milanese band was backordered until Nov in stainless steel silver 44 mm so I got the one with the sports band

I nearly went with Milanese as I don't really want the white sport band but I would hardly wear it and it looks like there are plenty of fairly decent-looking third party ones on amazon for a fraction of the price. I just wish you could buy the watch strapless for cheaps! Might ebay the white one...

Completely lucked out this year - ordered over 3 and a half hours after pre-orders opened here in Australia and got mine to pick up in store on September 21!
I’ve upgraded every series AW since series 0 in 2015 and wasn’t going to upgrade this time as I’m super happy with my AW3 with LTE but I just thought I’d check to see when my release date would be. And must have just got my order in time as delivery dates now mid October. Got AW4 with LTE, gold aluminium with sports loop.
Wooohoooooo thanks for taking my money Apple!

Well, in effect, it is backordered since it isn't in stock for another week, so it's possible it's just that.

Initially had problems getting into Apple Store. Placed order for 44mm SBSS, delivery 9/28-10/3. Went through AT&T, same model with delivery date of 9/21. Can't wait!
