I was able to snag the 45mm titanium about 3 minutes after the site came up with an early Nov delivery date... hastily snagged a band that I didn't really want but I bought the band I wanted after the fact..

I had been on fence about ordering a replacement for my trusty Apple Watch 4. But got up and around half past hour I was sitting at breakfast table and said what the heck and started looking. I do not need stainless steel so going with aluminum like my 4, get on and after playing with configurations to get one I like and available on 10/15 I put in bag and go to check out. Well two problems first I wanted to pay with the visa check card I have on Apple Pay, that was not working so it wanted me to choose the card I paid for myy 13 ProMax with. Problem being in time it was charged they gave me a new card with different card number and security code. So by the time I dealt with that and then found my visa check card was in the old cards folder of the wallet and updating it (on my phone with eye scan) I finished and of course my choice slipped to 10/26 to 10/28. Not a big deal I was just going to wait til stock showed here in town. But only minor first world “problem” is I will not be able to wait to UPS if it comes earlier the previous week LOL. So for the first time I like this date if I could not get on the 15th. Hope it holds to be honest

One minor question I still use my expensive 44 mm silver Milanese (steel mesh) loop. I was looking online and it says a new one is good for 45 mm like my new watch is? So I can assume my old Milanese will work fine with my new 45 mm watch?

do you pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for flights and then sit around happily as they delay your flight not letting you know any details?

If you’ve *paid* for your watch and accepted a promised delivery date, and it is late or isn’t up to snuff then yes, you have cause for complaint. Or if the watch was badly designed or not worth the money you’d have grounds for criticism - otherwise most of this site would be pretty pointless.

...but we‘re talking about people complaining that they have been somehow *forced* to buy the wrong watch for no other reason than their own impatience (...and at a time when the entire industry is known to be suffering delays...). That’s a whole new kind of stupid. Worse, you are part of the problem because, as a consumer, your #1 recourse is to walk away if you don’t like the deal.... and this is all about “the deal”, not the product.

Sure, if you pay for luxury goods then the sense of entitlement should be included in the price... but first you have to pay.

Well I feel a bit lucky. I did order as soon as the store went up. Wasn't exactly the band color I wanted but I can deal with that later. I have several bands. Not a lot of choices with the graphite stainless. Definitely would have been a big help to have been able to see choices before today.

Lol apple may not be a luxury brand but sure in sense of luxury price albeit on the lower scale.

similar to ok, southwest charging emirates prices (first class) for tickets and then you go and have the same seating arrangements.

we already know approx how much we gonna pay. We just don’t know the specs and worse we’re scrambling for this. Perhaps we haven’t paid yet but there should be some decency no?

anyways I already adjusted way in advance by planning to buy multiple and returning but there wasn’t even the combos I wanted. Just one so I will most likely keep it, but don’t know depending on how it looks @ the end.

even if I didn’t get an October 15 date (I’m out the door by 5:30am so usually I’m up this early anyways) I would be saying the same thing.

now if this was for some swatch watch I see your point, sarcastic and all.

Supply chain issues are real. There are odd items missing from grocery store shelves. News outles and stores like Amazon are recommending that you purchase Christmas gifts now rather than wait. Chips are short and China is reporting massive rolling blackouts delaying productions. Why is anyone surprised that Apple is affected, also? In fact, I think we now better understand why Apple’s rollout of the watch seems so disjointed and weird; it’s about the supply chain. It’s starting to look like even Apple doesn’t know when to expect things to get back to normal.

Anyway, I ordered a 13 Pro Max last Saturday and Apple is still saying November 4-11. I checked today and it’s up to November 10-17, meaning it doesn’t seem to be getting better. The next thing to watch is Google’s Pixel 6 rollout to see if they’ll have similar problems as I think the phone will be pretty popular. In the meantime, you might want to temper your expectations for new laptops. I won’t be surprised if Apple doesn’t just delay new laptops until next year because of this mess, or announces with release dates in January. Just look at how disappointed people are in these comments. Why would Apple want to go further down this road of disappointing consumers?

Got my silver SS (custom with starlight sport loop) order in right after 8am, delivery was first week of November, but pickup at my local store Oct 15. Went to order a 2nd graphite, but no color combination was available for pickup at all, and only a few combinations were available for 2nd week of November, I'm sure that's much worse now. My wife's gold SS isn't being delivered until the 2nd-3rd week of November, but that's ok it's a Xmas present.

So either they had a super high demand, had low supply, or a combination of both. I kind of think it's more of a low supply because of all the rumors that they had to do an about face on the new flat design and probably had to massively retool and setup their manufacturing.

I had to do my pickup for 7pm, anyone know if they honor the pickups if I get there really early, like 10am when they open? Would rather go there before work than after work.

I guess I lucked out...I was in my kid's school drop-off line that wasn't moving yet, so I got into the Apple Store app as soon as the hour hit (after a few refreshes); I was able to quickly get into the "watch studio", select the band that I wanted (I had seen the new ones ahead of time as they had been listed since the announcement), and check out with a credit card (not Apple Pay), and have an Oct 15 delivery :)

Verizon tried enticing me back again this year. Except instead of upgrading to the newest model they offered the same model as last year, iPhone 12 😂😂

There were more people ordering than the MR regulars.
No one saw a delivery date in October for stainless. They started with November. Even on carrier websites where supply is less constrained and aluminum models had better availability than Apple. Stainless still started with Nov. 1st.

After ordering on AT&T it says it might ship around Oct 22, so who knows.

Apple: Apple Watch Team really dropped the ball this year! Not going to lie. Please get it together for next year and try again!!!

This is just sad! Sad to say… Expecting Apple watches to be delayed till December. Any Space Black Titanium AW was able to get a promised launch date from the beginning?

It’s a hot mess, 😂

This shows the true class difference in the world these days. So what if you have to wait a couple of extra weeks for a watch? You can live without it. Meanwhile there are real people who are starving in the world. Appreciate what you have. Not the newest thing from Apple.

Verizon is doing really good deals for the 13. I upgraded 2 lines and got $800 and $1000 trade in for my old phones. If you are switching from another provider they give you an extra $500 gift card per line on top of that.

Yeah I was literally on at 8am when my Apple Store app refreshed, silver SS already had a 1st week of November delivery date BUT Oct 15 pickup date at my local Apple, which I locked in. Graphite and Gold SS were already into the 2nd week of November with no pickup options at all.

Ok I will put this out, I use the old 44 mm stainless Milanese band I got way back with my s3 stainless on my 44 mm s4 aluminum. I ordered the 45 mm starlight that is closest color to it. But wondering if the 44 band will fit well or at all with this new 45 mm? Any idea?

UPDATE the specs out would appear to be ok same width just height bigger.

44mm Apple Watch Series 6
Height: 44mm
Width: 38mm
Depth: 10.7mm

45mm Apple Watch Series 7
Height: 45mm
Width: 38mm
Depth: 10.7mm

Don’t most of you people already have Apple Watches? The baying is comical. What lives you must be fortunate to have if your expensive Apple Watch, purchased in replacement of the expensive Apple Watch on your wrist RIGHT NOW, coming a few weeks later is such a source of distress for you.
It's like a race that gives adrenaline and fan

I see that some other websites like amazon are showing October 15th. Would it be the delivery date or just they are saying what the release date is?

Exactly correct. Stainless models started with Nov.1 delivery estimates across all retail channels. Unrelated to pickup.
