I was a lucky one and received my watch on April 24th (38 MM SS with ML). I finally saw two this week when I traveled to Atlanta, GA (I normally work from home). The waitress at an Italian restaurant at Perimeter Mall and one of my co-workers - both had the space gray sports watch. Neither one realized I was wearing one (I've now switched up and have the Link bracelet).

Not a personal sighting but it looks like Mark Pincus and Les Moonves are Watch wearers.

That's ridiculous. A kid that young has no business with an Apple Watch or an iPhone.

My 7 year old nephew is obsessed with the Apple Watch. He asked me how much it was since he is saving his $2 a week allowance to buy one. I told him he needed an iPhone, he then told me can he sync it with his Dad's iPad until he gets an iPhone

does seeing them in the apple store on employees count as "in the wild?" if not, i have personally only see one person and that was while i was waiting for a connecting flight in atlanta a month ago, but that's it.

Seen a guy wearing a black sport 42mm at the gym. That's about it other than the one on my wrist :p

Haven't yet seen one unfortunately. As of the 17th of July they're finally being sold in the country I'm from. My body is ready! Quite literally!

I've seen a couple out and about in Montreal and Ottawa and one on the cruise ship we were on a week ago, they were all black sports, just like mine...

Are you in Sweden too? I saw one in the city center yesterday. My coworker also has one. I've had mine since US launch day and can't wait to start seeing more of them here.

I wish I was! Sweden looks like a great place to live :) I'm from The Netherlands however! Could've bought one in Germany but I didn't mind having to wait for it for a couple of months. Have fun with your AW!

Unfortunately, the watch works only with iPhones, not iPads. :( Your nephew would need at least an iPhone 5 or 5C. He doesn't need a data plan, however. I set up my Mom with an iPhone 5 and Apple Watch, but the iPhone doesn't have a data plan turned on -- it's basically functioning as an iPod touch.

I knew that just was not worth telling him that since he is 7 and is already obsessed with his parents iPhones and shamed his Dad into moving away from Android to iPhone because he liked the games better on iPhone.

Now I don't want to sound stuck up or pretentious or anything, but I was on holiday in Berlin where you have to pay 1 euro (that's more than a dollar) to use the toilet in the train stations. I think I would be forgiven for believing that the washroom attendants don't get paid a lot of money. But I must be wrong, or something, because as I'm coming out of the toilet - not worth the euro I paid - the attendant is setting up a cleaning sign and what do I see? A bloody Apple Watch on his wrist!

The thing is, you don't know the circumstances. Maybe someone gave it to him as a gift, maybe he bought it for himself by saving up for a long time.

I've seen two now. One from a coworker and one from a family member.

Both of them seemed very 'meh' about it. In fact when we asked the coworker how he liked it, there was an awkward pause and he said 'it's OK...' Then all of us laughed about his pause not being a glowing endorsement.

They said it did a few neat things, but nothing that made it a 'must wear' device. While neither came out and said they regretted it, I got the impression neither of them were particularly pleased about their purchase.

More telling was how the other coworkers and family reacted. It was almost a patronizing 'that's nice.' No follow up questions, no buzz, no excitement. Several family members that were there were huge Apple fans, but had no interest in the watch.

That is true, however he would also need an accompanying iPhone 5s or better, also an expensive device!

iPhone 5 will do. Second handed you can get them starting at around €100 ($100 nowadays, dang the euro has become weak..). Also keep in mind that the German minimum wage is a lot higher than the American's. I suppose someone who cleans toilets in Berlin can easily make €1200 to €1500 a month.

Ah my bad, that's a pleasant surprise though!

Again, I didn't mean to sound pretentious, it's just usually the last thing you expect to see!

Even the 5C which you can probably pick up for even less than the iPhone 5.

I was going to say the same thing. Our living wage here in Sweden allows for a very comfortable lifestyle including travelling abroad.
