I work in a giant hospital in LA, and have a ton of patient contact every day, saw a patient with a SS 38mm Milanese band, before I got mine, and she was awesome, let me try it on, wandering though the ED Friday, saw 2 employees showing off their Apple Sport Space gray's to each other, I told them they were slackers and showed off my SS with link band :cool:

Was at an Apple Store yesterday, and about 70% of the employees were wearing an Apple Sport Watch. All Apple Sport watches.

Met a guy last week who's wife works for an Apple Store and he was saying Apple is really tight with the discounted Apple Watches and are checking to ensure the watches sold to them at the 50% discount are used with their ICloud account, she'd bought 2, and given one to her father before the rule.

I haven't seen one but a friend of mine living in another town got hers on the first day . So when I got mine the first thing I did once it was set up was to send her a digital touch notification !

I've seen five: two at a Dunkin Donuts (oddly enough, two non-related people within five minutes of each other)—one Sport with white band, one Steel with Milanese band; three at a couple of different Starbucks—one Sport with blue band, one Sport with white band, another Steel with Milanese. Pretty sure they were all 42mm. Two men, three women.

These were all in the Santa Monica/West LA area, so the might have come from Maxfields.

I was walking past the Apple Store at our local Towncenter and I heard someone say whil pointing to my watch that it was the first SpaceBlack model they had seen. Someone asked was it SpaceBlack and actually tried to grab my arm! I had to step back so I could let them see without grabbing my arm. Not into the public touching thing! LOL!

Other than that I have see only one other watch, not too many out there yet. Even fewer people looking which is they way I would rather it be.

When I go in to my two nearest Costa's and started scanning with my watches, I became known as the guy with the special watch so I don't think there are many coffee drinkers in my town with Apple watches

Apple Watch sightings in the wild (not counting anyone you know)

Well considering I'm in a Tier II Indian city, I'd say chances of Apple Watch sighting are a couple millions to one for me. Haha.

I have not seen a single watch, period. I am in the Plano/Frisch/north Dallas area. I also frequently go downtown dallas.

If someone reaches out and tries to grab me they will most likely get punched in the face. Don't care if it's a beautiful woman either.

Oh you can believe that I stepped back to stop him from grabbing my arm. He understood quickly when I told him to not grab me arm. I am 6-3 and not used to strangers doing something like that. People are crazy these days.

Anyway went t the mall today and not a single AW was to be seen our of hundreds of people I saw. No one really notices my watch but that is fine with me.

I was at a business conference last week and few other guys had watches. One guy I know (who works in another office but i hardly see) just got the same one as me (42 mm ss bsb).

Saw a 38mm SG in traffic one week before I got my 42mm SG.

I saw one on the tube in London two days ago. It was a white sports watch and the wearer was male.

I commute on the Tube here in London every week day and so far I've not seen anyone on there wear one or anywhere else I've gone in London so far.

When I go in to my two nearest Costa's and started scanning with my watches, I became known as the guy with the special watch so I don't think there are many coffee drinkers in my town with Apple watches

I've got a few reactions like that when using my watch in Costa, Starbucks and Subway both from members of staff as well as customers waiting in line. Speaking of which I went to a local Subway yesterday and they couldn't scan my watch and I had to take my phone out. It had worked fine in three other Subways as well as several Costas and Starbucks previously. I'm going to try and use it in Greggs sometime.

Not counting my assistant who has had his Green Band Sport since Friday April 24 when they first became available, I did see a lady wearing one at Whole Foods a couple weekends ago. It was a 38mm stainless steel model with the white sport band.

I would say that my wife has received many comments and questions about hers (38 Sport with Pink band) since she got it. Questions like How do you like it, is it comfortable, does it work well, etc. The reactions run the gamut from mild curiosity to downright fanaticism/freakouts, much like some of the folks here. ;)

i was walking down the street the other day, and the guy walking towards me had a milanese loop SS 42mm on, and had his face buried in it as he fiddled with it (while walking). I thought to myself 'is this how i look when I walk on the street and fiddle with my watch?'. didn't like the look.

I try to limit my fiddling now to under 5 seconds when I'm on the street, and if its more I'll stand off to the side.

The Apple Store customer I mentioned in my other post was also walking while staring at his SS ML on his wrist held up before his face. His facial expression was sour and distracted and, until your post, I'd forgotten about how I thought he looked like a jerk for doing that. I shudder at the thought of doing the same thing in public, so I will practice good :apple:Watch etiquette when mine eventually arrives.

I haven't seen a single Watch in LA. Not at the Venice Gold's gym, not on any of my entertainment business colleagues, not on pedestrians in Santa Monica.

Sort of surprising actually considering how meany people I saw with the original iPhone during the first month of its launch.

I also commute everyday on the tube and I've never seen one. Oddly enough it was on my way back from Selfridges to pick up my Millanese loop that I saw the watch.

I got mine on launch day (delivered to me in Sweden on the 27th). My coworker just got his last week so that is the only one that I've seen out in the wild. They are still not released here in Sweden yet so I think it's going to be a while until they start showing up. I'm always on the lookout though  ...

I had to chuckle at the mention of the Apple Store employees wnting to see peoples :apple: Watches. When I went in for my try on the only people I saw sporting :apple: Watches were the :apple: staff.

At least 3 of them had watches.

I haven't seen any in the wild but mine has been spotted quite a few times. I was in Columbus last weekend and had it noticed quite a few times. Apple Pay isn't a big deal here(West Virginia) anymore. It is so common that the only comment I have heard is "A lot of people are using that now. It is really convenient."

It's funny, I haven't seen any either and I'm in Toronto. The Apple Fanboy ratio is pretty high here.

Nobody had noticed my Space Grey while I had the black sport band on but since I paired it with the blue sport band, it seems to stand out. I've been approached by total strangers at crosswalks, in stores and even stopped in my tracks on brisk walks. Today at Starbucks, I paid with my Watch and one guy did an almost comical triple take.

You know, I have to wonder if this was such a good move by Apple. Customers are going to walk in and see Apple employees wearing their blue shirt uniforms, complete with matching wrist wear. The watch bands can only do so much to change the obvious fact that the watches are all identical black squares. A dozen or so of those on employees might not collectively paint such a flattering picture of the watch.

The real question is how many employees at the elite fashion boutiques around the world, that are the only stores currently selling the watch, will be wearing one?

None here

I live in New Jersey and I have 2 Apple stores near me and went to the store in Delaware. No one there had seen one in the wild other than mine. (Okay I did go in there to kinda show off since most of them knw me and I knew they hadn't seen it for real!!) Especially the SSSB. Many of the staff I have talked to have July ship dates. They did get a sweet discount of HALF off the prices. I think this only applied to store employees because I mentioned it to Apple phone staff who hadn't been offered that.

I have had a few people notice and ask me about it. The teens I work with have ALL noticed and are haters!! (okay I'm going to hell for showing it off to them and reveling in the jealousy!!)

I will say I do get people still asking me about my 6+. Most of the people I see with IPhone's still have the 5 series
