I hope that top pic is in the USA, just so I can know that there is someone else here that much prefers 24 hr clock besides me...

You're not alone. I always and only use 24 hr time too. It's much simpler.

Dick Tracy disagrees. Without stand-alone capability it's more of a traditional dumb watch.

This LG device has stand-alone capability and not only does it look more professional but also less like a phone with a strap than non-stand-alone aWatch.

Man, that is ugly.

I am a watch wearer but have had very little interest in the Apple Watch up to this point. But I've got to admit; seeing one on someones wrist made it look quite a bit more appealing to me than just stock pictures. It actually looks like a legit watch that doesn't scream for attention (fits well and such).

I have to admit, that hairy guy's watch looks awful. Too big and boxy appearing. On another note, the pink sweater is also awful.

Can't wait for this watch! I only check mac rumors for the watch now hehe. I really loved my polar loop ! And this one look 200 times better . I'm sure it will be a sold out! I'm really exited for the fitness features, the polar loop help a lot and it only measures steps ands calories for my day and workout.:D

So, in order words, Apple employees are quite happy to demo the watch's features, when confronted on the streets of Cupertino, ahead of launch...

Ya right..

I doubt this photo is an Apple Watch either........ The crown just looks too rough. I'm trying to make out the ridges..

Who knew that Apple is so fourth-right... I wished i lived in Cupertino :D

But it can't. No gps unless you also carry your phone, and if you have your phone, why do you need a watch too?

Lack of integrated gps is the killer for me, and I will consider an Apple watch when they add it.

You need the watch for hearth monitor, also it tracks your movement all day, you can be sure you are having more active day. :) easy to check stats on the run from your wrist specially if you are on a bike

Serious question. Why do so many people that could care less about Apple Watch read an article about the Apple Watch and then take the time to let people know how much they don't want one or care about the Apple Watch? I would love to know this. I come to read the comments to gain extra insight as to features and topics about the watch but I finding myself having to maneuver through a bunch of garbage. Does anyone have the answer to this? BTW. I want and Apple Watch.

....and since you must have your phone on u anyway to sync data back to, then u can just use GPS on phone anyway...

Yes, that's MUCH more convenient :apple:...

It's human nature to have opinions and to voice them loudly. It's essentially the reason why social media - and discussion boards like this, for that matter - exist.

Odd place to search for insight. We're just other people with the same base of knowledge as yourself. It's a discussion forum, after all. If you want more insights on features, then seek out other news sources or ... I honestly don't know where you'd get more insights on the watch. Reddit maybe? Making friends with a loose-lipped developer?

When "everyone is doing it," they'll fit right in.

In the 1980s, everyone had a pager or two strapped to their Bat Belts. In the 1990s we got used to seeing people walk around with one of their hands next their ear. In the 2000s we got used to seeing people walking around looking at the little slab in their hands. Then came the bluetooth earpieces that made people either look like Borg drones, or like lunatics talking to invisible friends.

To people who weren't a part of that group, it did look strange. One fellow told me that watching someone using a smart phone was like watching them pet a hamster. Obviously, that kind of reaction is why smart phones never really took off, because no one wants old-timers to think they look strange.

aside from the Bluetooth earpieces, none of those are very apt comparisons. They were all an extension of similar things we've seen before. not saying it'll never become commonplace, but talking into your wrist is vastly different than those others.

and people still look stupid having conversations on Bluetooth.

Okay! Let's make this perfectly clear if a person is reading an article about the Apple Watch it doesn't make a lot of sence to read it if you don't want one let alone comment on it too. This just says to me Troll! No one is that stupid to waste their time. You don't see atheists in church telling people they don't believe in God.

By 'picking up' they mean 'there's been another one'.

Yes, it's funny watching how the writing style on this site has give downhill, mimicking that of mass media. From lack of editorial input to over the top words to get an impact. It's a shame really, and kind of insults the intelligence of the reader.

You must be new here. Welcome to MR!

I remember the lines for the first IPad and I had a reservation and bypassed the people camped out.

I don't wear a watch because I have to download a 100 page PDF file just to change to daylight savings time. After the third time, this watch is not intuitive and I just use my phone for time.

But even though I have an iPhone 6, I would still use the watch for ApplePay which I use all of the time, especially after I found many more stores with this app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mobile-pay-finder/id942307294?mt=8

The other thing I like about the watch is the ability to change bands. And if it can track my distance running and walking that is an added advantage as well.

My rank of features.
1. Apple Pay integration
2. Calendar
3. Automatic Time Setting
4. Fitness Tracking
5. Interchangeable Bands.

Well your iPhone is already tracking your distance - check the health app!

if you have no interest in one and just come in here to say "it's stupid" without any qualification, the yeah. but if you don't have interest and give some reasons behind it then it's perfectly fine. we're posting on a freaking Apple rumor site. talking it up with just a bunch like minded people is dull.

Looks really huge, will wait for slimmer version 2

Saw one in person up close, on a small female wrist, and it looked shockingly not-huge. I didn't think I'd want one because all the close-up photos make it look bulky, but it was surprisingly thin. Certainly no thicker than any of the watches I own. I didn't even notice this person was wearing the Watch until someone pointed it out.
