Unboxed and wow, this product screams quality. It actually surprised me in a couple of ways which I’ll explain. The watch has only one negative aspect and it’s the finishing. The titanium honestly looks like a regular aluminium AW model. It doesn’t have the sheen of the Edition Ti models and it looks more like a Starlight colour.

Build quality wise it is sturdy. The moment I lift the watch from the box I knew this is a tank. The crown, side button and the orange button are all easily accessible and provide sufficient feedback when pressed.

I got the Alpine loop as you can see. Initially I thought it’s gonna be tough to put the hook on and off but in typical Apple fashion, IT JUST WORKS! It took me less than a second to get the hook into the individual loop and took me about the same time taking it off. The fit is just nice for my small wrist. I’ve attached some front and barrel shots to compare. For some reason the front shots make the watch’s “lug to lug” length longer than it actually is.

This device isn’t rushed to the market. It feels like Apple took their time and worked for a long time to come up with this.

I wish I could keep this but my SBTi S7 still serves me well.

Looks like a nice stonewashed titanium to me. I don’t see an aluminum look at all .

The Trail loop is very comfortable, I like it. Will definitely be first choice for this weekend's trip to the hills. Out tonight so have tried the stainless steel straps with it and settled on the silver link one - its a pretty close match for titanium - as others have said, it looks good with different shades of grey.
Does the active screen area seem small that in AW 7 or 8? Like cut out some text compared to AW 7 or 8 45mm?

What is the actual active screen size (width and length)? Is it smaller or larger than in AW 7 or 8 45mm?

Also anyone tested if this watch can be used comfortably with Milanese loop and leather loop?

Check accessory thread for answers to your other questions.

Mine was delivered a few minutes ago. I'm pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the Ocean band is. I love the look of the watch and band together.

Happy to see someone else who ordered the Ocean Midnight band.

I have the Alpine and Ocean band ordered for pickup tomorrow. One will win.

I was afraid the Ocean band would be too "chunky" but it doesn't look that way in your picture.

that's not the answer, apple made out the screen is bigger and its not true and they didn't say it cuts text off
Except that it's literally bigger. I don't think they can increase the size further without the watch going way past smaller wrists.

Glad I passed on it for now. With my s5 doing fine still, I’m in no rush. Want to see what Apple does for s9 series first. Or more ultra options for gen 2. Not a fan of the bezels of ultra.

I’d probably go for s9 with the brightness of the ultra and hopefully an updated cpu and battery.

Ooo a Trail Loop. Let's see pics!

Exactly the same, get a s7 it’s the best there is series 8 isn’t needed

Can someone send me pics of the ocean band? I don’t understand how to put the clasp on

a problem with the new ultra even tho it says it has a slightly bigger screen the text on messages for the contact doesn't show the whole name while on the series 7 it does, both are set to smallest text size but for some reason the ultra cant show the know name so its actually a down size, this watch is going back, the only thing I like is the brighter display which they should of given the series 8View attachment 2076720
Gosh! This is a bit of shocker. So in actual use it effectively has less real estate than a 7.

Note both are set to smallest text size.

Put the main strap on first until it’s comfortable. Then take the spare clip and undo it. Slide it into the lower part of the strap and hook it over the end of the free strap.

Honestly this watch looooks way sexier than the plain watch. All clout watches are big. And all of apples watches look like pieces of plastic pods. Now this actually looks more like a watch. On my 6.5 inch wrists and my nomad black band its awesome.

My watch just arrived with the ocean band

I have a big wrist so the band stretches a little too tight for me to wear when I'm not doing water stuff, so I'll save it for that mainly

Have 2 alpine loops on order for pickup today (green large and orange medium to test the sizes for my wrist) along with a pair of AP2

Currently rocking my silver milanese on it and honestly this looks fantastic, kinda like your average 49mm watch because the band is a little smaller than the case

Looks good on you. Maybe partly how you carry it, if that makes any sense.
First pic I've seen that makes we want to get one, considering looks only
