Mania,

Very nice photos. Thanks for taking those.

To continue my questions as I have to make a choice between the Ocean and Alpine....

How big are your wrists? Mine are Solo Band size 5 which is roughly 150mm or 6-6.5"

Now, reviewer iJustine who has small wrists thought the Ocean band was too big (since its once size fits all)

Interested to see if you think this band is too big for small wrists.

You’re welcome!

I don’t have a convenient way to measure my wrist. But I can give some rough description. For my 45mm watch, my Sports Band goes into the third hole from the bottom. The Solo Loop is size 6 snug to fit. The Ocean Band, seems just right for my wrist.

Hope this helps.

Again, looking at your photos. The band looks nice.

I expected it to look "chunky" and it doesn't appear as such to me

Ooooo I think these photos look awesome! I can’t wait to get mine today — ordered the orange alpine loop and the yellow ocean (not subtle, I know!). Should be interesting on me as I am a size 1 in the solo loop!

I may have a solution…I ordered this strap which I think will go well with the titanium finish:

looks interesting - would appreciate a picture if it arrives.
Nomad has some great stuff.

I'm curious to see the ladies first impressions here.

I need to upgrade my series 5 that is cracked and not waterproof anymore lol

I was waiting to upgrade bc I really wanted a different design. I loved the Ultra but I'm afraid that it will be too big for me so I'm planning to go try on the stores first.

I wish they had put the flat screen on the 8 too :(
Ladies approve. Hahaha, at least I like it a lot. I think it looks cool, rugged, and sort of sexy in a way. Especially paired with Hermes bands or really classic leather bands.

I'm so jealous I want one so bad even though I don't need once since I don't do extreme stuff. But man, that beeg watch, the durability, I want it so bad.

Well I was right, I ordered my strap too small but at least my other straps work! I bought the watch for the watch not the straps anyway. 😃 absolutely love the size, shape, screen brightness, action button. It’s noticeably larger than my series 5 44mm. View attachment 2076874View attachment 2076879
its the same screen size compared to series 7, and its smaller because of the rounded corners it looses text, you should go for series 7

I also got mine today (Alpine green), like it really!
One thing thats not so good is that I cant set my Gym-Workout App on the Action Button…

Well. 20 mins in and I am in love with this thing. I’d go as far as to say it’s my favourite Apple product in a while! Already my other Series watches are feeling very small and boring! Loving pairing this thing up with more muted colours. Nike Ironstone looks great with the titanium!

I just received delivery of the Apple Watch Ultra with green alpine loop in Sydney Australia. I also bought the orange alpine loop.

@TheYayAreaLiving 🎗 - As promised I made a first impressions thread anyway even though a lot of you lucky Americans have got the watch already!

First impressions:
  • Packaging is nice and offers a different, more premium unboxing experience.
  • The watch is not as big as I expected. The case is bigger and thicker but it doesn’t feel heavier on the wrist compared to the S7 stainless steel.
  • For reference, my wrist size is 155mm and I wear a Size 5 solo loop. The two alpine loops I have are both size small.
  • The natural titanium looks and feels premium. I’ve always had stainless steel versions so I’m interested to see what the wear and tear will look like
  • The G hook on the alpine loop will take some getting used to. It wasn’t easy to take the watch on and off.
  • The flat screen looks and feels amazing to swipe on and it’s a clear differentiator from the standard series.
  • Display area is only slightly bigger than my Series 7 and the bezels are noticeable. They’re probably waiting til next year to reduce them and make it an incentive to upgrade.
  • Action button is useful for starting workouts. Will need to play around more to see what secondary functions I can assign to it.
Comparison pics are with my Series 7 Hermès.

Band pics include sport band, solo loop, leather loop, leather link, Milanese loop, steel link bracelet and some Hermès leather single tours.

Happy to take questions!

Edited to add pics of the midnight ocean band. Feels so nice!

Thank you so much for including pics of older watch bands on the Ultra. I'm picking up my Ultra tomorrow, and 'white alpine' was the only option available in my area. Don't dig the white band, but glad to see my existing sport loop band will actually look quite nice with the Ultra while waiting for a trail band. Makes me feel a lot better!

Does anyone have any experience with the Apple Watch Ultra Ocean Band (White)? How quick they tend to get dirty or pick up any type of dirt?

I have it, and it feels great, cannot comment on durability having only received it today although can say it feels just the same as my white sport band that I have used through a few Apple Watch generations for exersize / sleep tracking etc and its not discoloured or stained at all.

Take a piece of paper, wrap it around your wrist, mark the overlap, cut it to shape, use the measurement tool on your phone :D

its literally smaller small that series 7 because of rounded corners and bezels
