Take a piece of paper, wrap it around your wrist, mark the overlap, cut it to shape, use the measurement tool on your phone :D

Yes, even easier, use a tape or garment measure and mark the inch overlap then convert to mm.

However, the question was toward the Ocean Band which is an all-in-one band with no specific size and at least one reviewer with small wrists (iJustine) felt it was too big.

Just an observation now I have my watch is that judging how the watch looks on wrist sizes from photos can be misleading. The only real way to tell is to actually try it in for yourself.

I have 165 mm wrist and looking at the photos in this thread I thought the watch looked too big. Went to my local
Apple Store and tried for myself and it looked fine ( in my opinion) but I took some photos and when I look at those it does not look right.

So just saying, don’t right it off based solely on photos you see online.

its the same screen size compared to series 7, and its smaller because of the rounded corners it looses text, you should go for series 7
Huh? I didn’t buy the Ultra for screen size. I bought it for battery life, design which I prefer over Series 7/8 much as I like that design, exclusive features, and increased ruggedness. Why would I give that up?

Just got mine too. It honestly looks line a finely crafted piece of jewelry. Not sure how durable it will be though. Love the watch. I got the orange alpine loop and really don’t like the band (medium). I feel like I am going to bang the watch with the titanium piece. Any idea if we can exchange? Really want the midnight ocean band - from the pics I’ve seen on here so far.

So I returned the orange alpine loop as I thought it was too expensive for what it is.

I picked up the midnight ocean band and it’s so much nicer than Apple’s promotional pics. Feels good quality and nicer than the alpine loop!
I always love your photos because our wrists are similar - mine is 165mm. I have an Ultra with the white Ocean band due to deliver for myself, and an Ultra for my husband (who has massive hammock wrists) with the green Alpine band both delivering later today. I'm excited!

So you are not impressed with the Alpine then?

I have a size 5-6 watch band (about 150mm) and went with the medium size. Hope that was correct.

Also have the Ocean band on order. Canceling one or the other. Just can't decide which band I want and it sounds like you don't like the Alpine loop.

I must wear my solo loops way too tight, I have a 162mm wrist and wear a size 4 because I don’t like it to move.

I can't wait to get mine, but I'm thinking the same thing. This is going to get dinged up much more so than the other models. I constantly seem to bang the crystal into doorknobs and other things which leave no mark whatsoever, but it will definitely leave a mark on that titanium bezel. The guard around the crown and button has a pretty sharp edge begging for dings too.

I may have a solution…I ordered this strap which I think will go well with the titanium finish:

👍 I just (pre) ordered the Ultra Orange

Here’s more with the Midnight Ocean Band. Bonus dark mode shot.

How easy is it to get the ocean band on?

How easy is it to get the ocean band on?

Not as easy as I would like it to be. I’m having second thoughts about keeping it really. It makes my 45mm look out of proportion and it’s rather uncomfortable to wear for prolong periods. The water that got into the holes within the band don’t dry up quickly and wearing rubber straps with water residues in between the band and the wrist can cause itchiness for me.

Nothing wrong with the product. I’m not bashing it. Apple didn’t explicitly advertise it for daily wear. It’s functional and works the best in certain activities, in my opinion. I guess I’ll go to my Sports Band after all.

So when I get mine trail loop it is (unless I like the Alpine loop but I'll need to do a fitting at my Apple Store first.)

I do plan on getting Ocean though for days I go swimming.

Just received my ultra with green alpine band. Don’t know what to make of it coming from a stainless steel gold series 4. Wow it’s big, feels cheaper than the heft and quality of stainless steel. Love the extra screen size though from 44mm.

Don’t know if I like the green alpine band. Might have to swap it out for midnight silicone band.

Always on display is amazing coming from series 4!

I have to say I was worried about the watch, but it does look much better in person. I don’t notice the weight (coming from 45mm SS for the last 7 years). The design looks very classy and reflects light so nicely. Also, I don’t notice the thickness when it’s on my wrist. It’s noticeable in side by side comparisons, but its not that bad.

I will say if they came out with a 47mm full screen version that could be the sweet spot for most people. Good luck!

What is the actual active screen size (width and length)? Is it smaller or larger than in AW 7 or 8 45mm?

Also anyone tested if this watch can be used comfortably with Milanese loop and leather loop?

The Trail loop is very comfortable, I like it. Will definitely be first choice for this weekend's trip to the hills. Out tonight so have tried the stainless steel straps with it and settled on the silver link one - its a pretty close match for titanium - as others have said, it looks good with different shades of grey.
