A couple of Nomad bands and Garmin Fenix 7 comparison

View attachment 2077424
In comparison to some of Casio, Garmin & Suunto's offerings the AW Ultra is reasonably compact with features that likely serve a far wider audience.

Now this is a big GPS tool watch at 60.3 × 57.7 × 20.2 mm

Of little to no practical outside of field use, however near indestructible with solar & GPS and will get you home via it's Back-Track feature.

Just wear what makes you happy and be done with it :). Yes, there are occasions where people judge but they are far and few apart these days...

whoa. That thing is a beast. I love my Garmin(s) and figured my Ultra "experiment" wouldn't last long but, the Ultra is very nice. More impressive in person than photos.

It's no Garmin killer but I think occupies a perfect sweet spot between a regular AW and a Fenix/Epix.

How about some ladies with really small wrists….~153mm? Pics & thoughts?

My wife tried it on and it’s big on her. She’s a small girl though. My previous 44mm Apple Watch was big on her too. She can definitely wear it for working out, but a bit big for everyday wear.

How do you like the ocean band?

I have two watches on order for pickup tomorrow. One is Alpine band. The other is Ocean. One will be canceled.

Not sure which one to stick with
I am really surprised that it’s nice & comfy. I was expecting more of a stiffer plasticity, I’m forgetting that the watch is on my wrist. The sports loop makes me itchy and so far after 5 + hours no itch or redness.

I had a similar alpine band from garmin on my fenix 6 that was a bear to put on and take off. So I knew from the get go that I was not ordering the alpine loop band.

Here is some comparison of size.

Midnight Ocean band for me then. Will be great to take into the pool or ocean. THANK YOU for helping me make the right decision. Been going back-and-forth all day between the two.

Absolutely love that my favorite bands fits the Ultra and works perfectly! Thanks Apple!

Anyone have a Hermes Orange sport band that can put it on the ultra and take a pic? I want to see how it looks from a size/fit and also Orange band to Orange action button specific lol.

I know my request is ridiculous, but I have an Ultra on the way and I want to pick up a Hermes Orange Watch Band to go along with it because I prefer the silicon, but need to see the color matching first. Thanks in advance if anyone has this pairing and can hook it up <3

For me, the size isn't an issue even on my small wrist. It is the thickness. It is very noticeable compared to the regular watch. I hope those who are keeping it enjoy it, but isn't for me at this thickness.

Mine arrived. Couldn't be more happy with it. It actually feels much better on the wrist than the 44mm series 5 it is replacing, not quite sure what about it is making it feel nicer but there was something about the S5 that bothered my wrist that is not happening on the ultra.

It also looks fantastic, so much more attractive than the normal watch in my opinion. Cant wait to snag some other bands and wear the heck out of this thing for the next few years.

First impressions:
1. The size is fine. I have 160mm wrist which are small and it doesn't look ridiculous like I was worried it would.
2. The weight isn't noticeably different from the 45mm SS series 7 although YMMV.
3. Other bands fit fine and look fine, maybe a hair thin though. Tred it with both sports look and the Hermes single tour band. Both were perfectly doable but I'd still probably stick with ones specifically designed for it (I'm keep the series 7 and alternating between the two based on what I'm doing. ZERO reason the bands should be $50 more from what I can tell.
4. Love the quick switch to night mode as this has real practical value for me at times but others may find the use pretty limited.
5. Battery has dropped 20% in eight hours. More time will be required to see how much longer it lasts.
6. I couldn't tell a huge difference in the speakers but only tried it on a call for about a minute. I'd have to try them side by side to see if I could really hear a difference.
7. I like the way it looks in person but it is definitely a tool watch. If I was only going to pick one, I'd be hard pressed (right now) to say which I would keep.
