Apple swapped my band. I made a post about it.
Yeah got mine swapped as well and posted an update in the other thread but forgot to cross-post here:

Update: Apple Store let me come in and change the band size. They said it is very much a store specific decision but many will be able to do it if the band you want is in stock.

They just simply took my old band and box, handed me a new box off the shelf, did a $0 transaction and emailed the receipt.

As for the band… I went from Orange Alpine Medium to Orange Alpine Large so I could hook it to the side instead of the bottom of my wrist to avoid it dragging on my MacBook all day. The size up accomplished that (and is easier to put on over my hand). The difference in size is smaller than I thought, so it’s barely off the bottom of my wrist, which is nice since I like showing the loops.

But I think they shouldn’t even make 3 sizes of this band. It’s weird and the difference between sizes is small, and by nature it’s like the Ocean band where the whole strap can be hooked (yet they only make one size Ocean Band)… so I think the precise sizing makes no sense on this band. At most, it should be like the Sport or Leather bands that come in S/M and M/L. Very weird choice to give three sizes to such a flexibly sized band design.

Thanks for the detailed write up! I’m not a diver but it’s interesting to hear how the watch is working out.

Have you tried HealthFit for getting the dive data out? The last update says that support has been added.
No I haven’t tried HealthFit nor can I see where it claims to be able to import the data. Would appreciate a link if you have one 👍🏻

I was very sceptical about the size.
I have skinny 160mm wrists, and my whole lower arms are skinny.

But I went to Apple Store and tried it.
To my surprise it didn’t look ridiculous on me.it’s not that big.

I liked it.

TBH I was never the biggest fan of regular Apple Watch design,I’ve had 3 of them but sold them all after a while (not liking the design they just don't look like a real watch -with exception of Stainless steel model paired with link bracelet- which now costs similar to Ultra even without bracelet band)

I’m now considering the Ultra.
IMO It looks far superior to regular Apple watch aluminium models.

I specially dig that orange button.definitely adds something cool to the design.

Here’s the link to the app. Versions 10.1 and 10.2 mention “Water temperature and underwater depth for swimming workouts” in the release notes. It’s a little bit of a stretch but swimming workouts might include dives too.

I picked up an Ocean band earlier this week, and it just might be my favorite band to wear during workouts over the Nike Sport Loop/Apple Sport Loop. While the Sport Loops can probably get the most secure fit with velcro, the Ocean Band can still get pretty secure/flush against the wrist without causing discomfort. Not retaining sweat/water is another plus over the any of the Sport Loops.
Extra special plus: Raleigh NC.

Similar wrist size (I think you mean 160mm 🤣) as me and the ultra looks perfect on you! Go get it!

You can totally rock the Ultra.

I like the gold hue that this pic gives off; it makes me eager to see if/when Apple come out with a gold color in a future model...
I see the hue!! It’s from the sunlight through my patio awning (you can see the awning stripes reflected in the crystal).

Yes, you just know more colors are coming. Interestingly (at least to me, haha!!) my understanding is that raw Ti oxidizes slightly orange. This was apparently seen in the Lockheed A-12 (precursor to the SR-71) which was originally unpainted Ti.

Wow this makes me wanna order a white ocean band as well. My Nike Sport Loop is three years old and beginning to fall apart. I was hesitating because the ocean loop looked so bulky…

May I ask where you found that cool “Rolex” watch face? On Clockology? (if so, don’t know if it requires membership to access). And do you possibly have a link? Thank you!

it‘s available in the clockology channel in Telegram. Clockology Channel. You need to search for it in the channel. I think it was posted around Sept 12. I don’t have a membership and it works with no problems.

Thanks! I found it on the Telegram Clockology Channel, and downloaded it to my iPhone Files folder, but I don’t seem to be able to sync it to the Clockology Faces App or to my Watch. Any suggestions on how to get it on my Watch? Thanks again for your help!

Go for it! Definitely worth it. The ocean band feels close to the silicone used in the sport bands, but feels more pliable. It definitely feels better than it looks. While I do enjoy the velcro of the Nike Sport Loop, the Ocean Band gives it a run for the money. They boat stay secure, but the ability to stay dry is the entire workout is a plus.

Even with the delay, I’d still be interested in trying a Trail Loop that was made for the Ultra, but I think it might pale in comparison.

I’m incredibly tempted to try the Ocean. It looks so bulky in photos but all I read are praises for it.

It is great and not as bulky as you think

I too thought it was bulky/cumbersome looking from the photos, but I was thoroughly surprised that it was far from my assumptions.

As much as I like the Alpine loop, the orange one specifically (because it matches the international orange accents on the watch), I’d like an orange Ocean band too! Haha.
