ISO iis just getting speech recognition? Androids had this forever.
What?
ISO iis just getting speech recognition? Androids had this forever.
Let me translate:…What?ISO iis just getting speech recognition? Androids had this forever.
What do you mean no. It is so pointless to have a talk to text someone. That is why it is call TEXTING!!!! Are you just that lazy not to call the person if your going to waste the energy to speak?
Wrong. You're obviously not an inventor or innovator and without respect or regard for smart hard work. Freeloader maybe?
Well you are supposed to say "Sudo Make me a sandwich!"
Then it should work!
MacinDoc said:Maybe because they were not sure whether it would be fully functional in time for the release of iOS 5?Why would they want to hide it so badly?
I haven't had much success with Android's speech recognition on my son's phone. My car's speech recognition is much better, as I hope iOS's will be.ISO iis just getting speech recognition? Androids had this forever.
Why don't you people think it is funny a "post PC device" uses code names "Dvorak keyboard" and "forward delete key"? Next they will be using "Windows 1.0" and "DOS 2.2".

I'd never heard of Dvorak before.
Interesting article for anyone interested in it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvorak_Simplified_Keyboard
It's an alternative layout for keyboards (as opposed to the QWERTY layout that is so prevalent,) that supposedly allows:
1.) People to learn the layout in 1/3 the time it takes to learn QWERTY.
2.) People to type 2x as fast as they do on QWERTY.
3.) People to suffer from less muscle strains from extended typing sessions.
In this instance, they've obfuscated the names of various pieces of the interface. For example, calling the microphone button "forward delete key" and the keyboard pretends to be a "Dvorak" keyboard.

This is nice, but I'm hoping for a more comprehensive voice recognition, I'd like to see a solution where I can hold down the key on the headset and say "Text to <person>" and the phone acknowledges this by some sort of audio cue to tell me the phone is ready for transcribing.
Not sure whether it will be possible on the iP4, but I suspect it won't be available for it, in any case.Who here thinks that this feature, while possible on the iPhone 4, has been obfuscated on account of it being an exclusive feature for the iPhone 5? I mean this is the only major feature for iOS 5 that wasn't announced with the rest of the features along with a lack of iPhone 5 announcements.

The space bar is important and I think making it smaller is going to cause problems.
Also its the most used key, so I could easily see the Microphone button being accidentally pressed all the time!
What a nightmare ...Can we all agree that it would be better to place the Microphone button next to the Camera button !
