Got up at 1:45, refreshed the site a few times around 2:00, finally got in at 2:03, wife got in at 2:05, and we both got 7+ 128gb, mine black, hers rose gold. Delivery Date of 9/16.
For some reason it made both her and I order our watches separately...but those too are delivered on 9/16
I'll probably hit up the store to pick up a Jet Black one as soon as those become avail so I can resell to one of you poor souls.

So my assumption is that if I can reserve and pick up, that my pre-order which is out to November will deliver around then as well.

I see a lot of people on Twitter who are part of the iPhone Upgrade Program that weren't able to reserve a phone

It looks like upgrade customers were limited to first day stock at whatever store they could get to, and even right when the store opened, they didn't have the model I wanted in any color. And there was no other option to reserve a place in line -- shipping times were slipping and we were left at the back of the line with no way to order a phone. The claim that we could upgrade every year seems to have been a pretty hollow one. Apple should have prioritized these customers but instead they seem to have forgotten about them. If Apple doesn't come up with a fix and apology really soon, I doubt many of us will be signing up for Apple's upgrade program again -- this is the first time (since they started online ordering) that I've wanted to get the new phone on the first day and haven't been able to.

After seeing all the problems people using that program have, I'm glad I stuck to Next.

No company is going to intentionally limit supply to create some sort of artificial demand. Mostly because they can't assume potential customers won't buy something else if what they want isn't available. Not everyone is so tied up into the Apple ecosystem that they'll wait months to get the new iPhone without ever considering something else.

EXACTLY! Apple isn't dicking around and playing games. Do people really think Apple is going to intentionally limit supply to create some false scarcity so they can....what? Have to avoid posting sales figures for the launch because they will be lower than usual? Possibly drive customers to a competitor or at the very least piss them off and leave them with a sour taste? No... with almost anything -- especially mass-produced, high-volume stuff like the iPhone, it does NOT benefit the company to sell less units at any time, for any reason.

I created a thread about this to share our grief and get an idea of how many people new to the program were able to order right away vs those of us trying to upgrade. I was upgrading and my girlfriend was signing up and she got hers 45 minutes after launch and I had no avaibility 1 minute after launch.....very telling

Being sold out til October at 8:09 this morning when Apples site actually worked was annoying.

So... I won't be able to line up at 9.30 next friday and pick one up? I was hoping to do so.

6S+ 128GB is available for pickup immediately. SIM free. Has a headphone jack. If y'all just stay 1 year behind the tech curve, life's a lot more pleasant.

To the people gleefully celebrating these stories about pre-orders, just stop and ask yourself why Apple would preemptively announce they won't be releasing first weekends sales figures. Companies DO NOT do that if they believe the sales numbers are going to be great.

Pre-orders "selling out" means absolutely nothing in the big scheme of things. We all know they could artificially decide to limit the early numbers, to give the impression of high demand. It's not that complicated. If sales are big, they'll let us know. If they don't want to talk numbers, there is always a reason for that, and it's not a positive one.

1. I've not seen anyone gleefully celebrating sales figures.
2. They will still announce figures on their quarterly earnings call. So no hiding.

Odd about stock running out. I was able to reserve a 128gb iPhone 7 for pickup near my local store on launch day well after they supposedly suspended in-store pick up. I really didn't want to, but my iPhone 6 is having charging issues so the timing worked out.

EDIT: Now it makes sense why I was able to reserve one. I was a new customer signing up for the Apple Upgrade program where as it sounds like existing Apple upgrade customers got limited supply or all together shut out.

I tried to reserve one at my local Apple Store but it said it was unavailable. Based on past launches, Apple stores will get the bulk of product vs anywhere else. I'm going to head in during launch day and see what i can get for a 7+. Seems like the big one is yet again constrained compared to the regular one.

I see a lot of people on Twitter who are part of the iPhone Upgrade Program that weren't able to reserve a phone, at least not the black models. One, Schiller should have said on stage that the black models would be in limited quantities at launch and two, people who are part of the iPhone Upgrade Program should get first dibs on stock.

I'd like us to be able to go through the finance steps in advance of the preorder go live. We have several more steps to complete our purchase and more complexity to the backend process (last year the calls out to the finance company were problematic). At that point just give us a token of some sort so we can checkout just as fast as everyone making an Apple Pay purchase and I'll have my phones done by 12:04 again.

That said, the process wasn't too bad anyway. My phones are set for launch day. Evidently I like the less popular colors though so I wasn't fighting for the limited number of Jet Black.

Yeah, it was mighty frustrating to see that I could buy a 128 GB Black Plus direct online and have it here on 9/16, then check and find that not a single store in my state had it, or the jet black either, for the iPhone Upgrade Plan Reservation.

Same. I would have appreciated at least being put on a waiting list at the store to be notified when stock is available. Those who ordered outright weren't told to wait until Sept. 17 like us, they were given a future date. Another poor experience for those needing to visit the store.

I was able to order a 128GB Jet Black 7+ through the iPad app as soon as it went live (got confirmation email at 3:04AM ET). Delivery window to Canada is Sept 27th - Oct 4th. Current status is "Processing items". The process was super smooth, but in Canada, you can only have the phone shipped if you buy it outright and factory unlocked. If you want a carrier-subsidized model, it has to be done in-store on the 16th or later.

AlWorks for me since my carrier, Videotron, isn't tied in to the Apple store anyways.

I managed to do so in my country. Only need to wait for it to arrive now.

Yeah, or at least let us ship to the store. If the store doesn't have stock, we can't get it shipped to us, so we're screwed. I could've easily gotten the phone I wanted shipped to me on launch day but now I have no idea when I'll get it bc my store didn't have it and I'm on the upgrade plan.
*Hopefully* it won't be too hard to reserve one in the days following launch. Though Jet Black will probably be the hardest to snag.

I'm on T-Mobile and in-store reservation wasn't even an option for the 7+ at any of 3 local stores. Such a joke. (and the 256gb 7+, which I plan on getting, ran out pretty quickly on the remaining carriers at all stores with the exception of rose gold.)

I know someone within an UK operators so I asked her to place the order first thing as she gets in. she's telling me orders are high, very high but somehow she thought it would be crazier. The new iPhone 6S with 32GB is also seeing significant demand.

You can still wake up Friday morning and purchase to pick up in store when they receive their stock that's always been a good bet for me if I miss the preorder.
Kinda depends on your carrier. At least where I live, AT&T and Verizon are safe bets. Don't waste your time if you're on T-Mobile-- they'll have drastically fewer units (disproportionately fewer, I'd say-- even though the AT&T is the exact same device with a different included SIM).

Is this an internal fact that you received or just your opinion?

Agree with this completely. Of course this phone is going to sell in the millions - there is no doubt. However, for being a "new" generation iphone and not an "s" version, I feel like the hype/demand for this phone is going to fizzle so much faster than previous new generations. Time will tell if loss of functionality, loss of subsidized phone plans, market saturation, and rumors about the 10th anniversary phone will affect this generation's sales. Personally, this will be the first iphone I skip out on as I upgrade every new generation -- loss of headphone jack is a real deal breaker for me.
